Full Version: Was satan always evil?

WE usually teach satan was once good angel and came bad and rebel but something caught mine word on the wording Jesus use for satan.

Jesus said He was a murderer from The beginning so would that mean he was evil since His creation?

Well, IMO, "the beginning" doesn't mean Satan's beginning.

He "murdered" the 1/3 of angels when he mislead them to follow him in rebellion. AND he "murdered" mankind when he deceived Eve in the garden. Both of those things happened "in the beginning"....

My two cents.

Was Satan even made, by God, to be 'good' at all?  Sugarman, Your question made one of my old questions jump back into my empty head.  Consider this, as it may fit right into your question:

God, being omnipotent, before He made anything, or anyone, knowing the end, even before starting the beginning, knew that there was going to be problems with His great undertaking; a task that would tax the perfection, even of God.........................so He made Satan................................as a security testing, protector of the throne..................................and Satan, himself, turned out to be the problem in the great undertaking, that God knew was going to come from somewhere.

What was God's mistake?  I can not guess if there even was one, but, consider:  God wanted, so much to have this undertaking be so perfect, that He made Satan just as perfect as Himself, except for one tiny bit of one thing, Overall-Power.  A difference, so insignificant, that Satan did not notice, but sufficient so that, in necessity of invocation, God could overcome any and all problems.  Omnipotence requires 100%, not 99.99999999999999999999%. Poor Satan didn't catch-on until too late.

So:  Y E S, Satan was 'evil' at his creation.  Or, at least, he was capable of being evil at his creation.  Only God, who is 100% P U R E, and H O L L Y, has no evil.  Are you ready for this?

Evil equates to and only to, absence of perfection.  Only Perfection equals Perfection.

Oh, Thank you God, for the words my fingers just typed.  I could not have composed this..

In Your Shalom, I close this.  Halleluiah   Arley
The angels like us had a free choice ...to serve God or not

Isa 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Isa 14:13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Isa 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

"I will" indicates free will to choose and the angels that went with him also chose to follow him.

Originally he was made second only to God Himself...He was chief of the angels..whose wings covered the throne of God...who had music in his voice but he saw what God had and he wanted it.

He hates mankind and the Jews especially...He has been trying to destroy them for centuries and now we who follow Jesus(God) are now party to that hatred

Shalom Prophet,

I offer this with the best of intentions, based on the fact that others will be reading your words, above, months, or even years in the future.

The words I highlighted in red, based upon my understanding of English, indicate that we are to be included on the side of Satan, not Israel.  Being 'party' to something, indicates a joining to the following subject word (hatred).  'We who follow Jesus(God) are now included in Satan's hatred' would place us at odds with Satan, and family to Israel.

Just a thought on context.

oops wrong choice of words.....we are now the recipients of that hatred

Did God make everything good? God said, "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these [things]."
"For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected [the same] in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God."
I know Satan is spirit, but for the lack of a better word, he was carnal minded, selfish. His mind was not on pleasing God, but himself. The self is important, but when it "the self" replaces God, then we become evil.

Shalom,
Christopher

Shalom Christopher,  Darkness, and Evil, had to be 'created.'  Light was 'formed.'  Peace was 'made.'  'Formed,' and 'made,' uses something 'tangible' to gain an 'end result.'  'Creation,' does not require anything initially.

Well Said.

Darkness and evil would not, and could not exist lest God decided to 'create' them.  Up until that creation, only He would be able to understand, the results of darkness, or evil, being introduced.

I wonder why He did what He did.  I am sure God had reason, and perhaps He will share that with us sometime in Eternity.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all, and may Messiah's Shalom be on everyone.  Arley
Hi; Satan is a tool in the hand of the "smithy". Satan was already given the "world" = us, the dust he has to crawl on his belly to consume. Satan wanted us to fall, so G-d made him part of the solution, as what the enemy meant for evil, G-d (already) meant for good.

Satan continues to "eat our dust", making it so uncomfortable in the dust realm for us, that he pushes us right up into the solution, which is Christ in us, the hope of glory. As we cooperate with the mind of Christ in line with the Father's plan, Satan literally "pushes" us up to be seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. Does not any good "footstool" elevate the feet? Blessings.....
Hebrew has more words for bad / evil etc.
Satan and Ra, are both words that come from Egyptian... Satan ment Evil in Egyptian...  Ra was the Sungod in Egypt, and became in Hebrew a bad word...

in Egyptian astrology, the head of the snake (1 astrologicall sign) is saperated by a man at the end of the yearcycle... from the rest of the snake (another astrologicall sign.

Our God, had to speak in terms and write the Torah in terms, that people in those days understood. The Angels interest me not so much.
The thing is What do YOU do with Evil, or speaking bad (Ra). etc.
Can you like Moses did, get the snake by the tail (instead of the head?). Or do you want to be affraid of a snake. Can the same snake also heal? when carried around on a stick??
Maybe it's not the sign... in most stories about Angels and Abraham it goes a lot about, what WE do with angels.

So good luck
