I was watching a program last night on National Geographic Channel. It was about the poles "flipping". There is magnetic disturbance (huge) in the south (pacific?...maybe atlantic, can't remember now).

But the effects of the poles flipping, a compressed magnetoshpere would cause CATASTROPHIC radiation effects on life on earth. ie: burning. According to them we are hundreds of thousands of years "overdue" for the flip. (I don't agree with Darwinist time frames, young-earther here, but I do believe evidence that shows it has happened in the past.)

(Did you know that all our astronauts developed cataracts within FIVE YEARS of their expeditions? And they were YOUNG MEN. Due to lack of protection from the sun's radiation within the earth's magnetoshpere.)

So, chech NASA's site out about the magnetoshpere...I thought of you while I was watching the program. *LOL*

What is the Magnetosphere?

All I have to say is WOW!

OK, I read Ripley's link and to  make a long story short this is saying that Venus and Mars have no magnetic field to protect them from solar winds and this is why they have no ocean.  They think they lost thier oceans a long time ago.  Solar wind is charge particles that get pushed away from earth like water going from the front of a boat. If there a solar flare it can knock out electrical power like in 1989.  I would also add here they saw this when Jerusalem was being destoryed in 70 AD.  AS I recall Josephus saw something like the Arora borealis.  My analogy is that it would be like sufferieng from Cosmic AIDS.  The earth loses protection.  So for ice caps to melt and for a large part of the ocean to be blown away you don't even need a comet all you need is a disturbance in the earths magnetic field such as if it shifted from poles (her link sayas earth is really just a big magnet.)

My husband had cataract surgery for both eyes while he was in his 40's cause he's a blond/blue-eyed person for that very reason as stated above by Ripley.

All you blond & blue people out there--WEAR SHADES AT ALL TIMES when you are in the sun--even in THIS atmosphere. Sun skin is probably a good idea for you too.

I haven't seen anything on this, but I have been thinking about the polar caps melting for the last couple of years, and I came to the conclusion that the polar caps are responsible for the plate shift that caused the sunami. All that water has to be putting a different stress on the ocean floors in places they are not used to it. So if it increased, and it is, why wouldn't it be capable of causing a pole shift? Scary.

It is clear that man is capable and increasingly responsible for the destruction that is coming upon him. G-d help us all. Thanks for the link, Ripley's. Blessings....

Have you considered how "sudden" a flip would be - causing compasses the world over to fail, disrupting stock market computers - in the light of the scripture (Revelation) that says Yahweh will overcome Babylon "suddenly and with great violence"?

Re: astronauts cataracts- apparently they were seeing "unexplained flashes of light" while in space...EVEN WITH THEIR EYES CLOSED. NASA doctors had no explainations, but later they all developed cataracts. (They think now it was due to strong radiation without the protection of our magnetosphere.)

Chow~ I have light eyes (hazel green) and MUST wear polarized sunglasses...the light has always bothered my eyes.

Also, disrupting animals who use the poles/internal compass for migrations and homing. They had a demonstration on bats in the documentary, they "magnetized" the bats, and they couldn't find their way "home" until the effects wore off (8 hours later). But from birds to whales, animals need the magnetic "map" to guide them. They speculated about whole pods of beached whales, that seem healthy...so what caused them to "beach"??

The whole topic was just an interesting observation that I had not heard about before, and wanted to share...

Now, the scientists above are all saying "slow/gradual"...like they always do pertaining to change on earth. But several fields of science are coming to realize that what appeared to be/or was accepted as "slow/gradual" was really instantaneous/or very quick. (Grand Canyon, genetic mutations, etc.) That's where the evidence leads them when they aren't forcing a Darwinist model.

So, all of my fellow nerds, something else for us to ponder...LOL... and wonder how it all relates to our Creator and His plan.
