I think the devil wanted me to have a bad Christmass as usuall so on Christmass eve after might night some time I don't know for sure I was awake and having God hating thoughts that I knew wasn't me and had to be the oppression of the devil.  I remembered this verse and whatever it was just went away.  In Romans 1:30 I think it is it talks about "haters of God."

You see, I have had this at other times in my life like when I had to take biology and deal with evolution or when I took classes on the Bible where inspiration was challenged.

But when all else fails you can use the logic of Peter in John 6:68.  Everyone was walking away from Jesus and Jesus says to Peter will you go too?  But Kefa (Peter) says "who else will we go to, only you have the word's of life."

OK, fine, you have a problem with evil in the world, so what are you going to do, hate God and be against everything good? No! that would be crazy.  You have to live with the incongruities of faith.
Actually, if truth be told, the Devil wants you to have a bad life—not only just a bad Christmas.  It’s good that you reflected on biblical texts to aid you in ‘opposing the Devil.’  No Christian need fear the Devil or his cohorts.  Oppose him and he will flee as our Master said.

As for “hav[ing] a problem with the evil world,” and “hat[ing] God,” some would indeed do that.  But wasn’t that the issue as explained in the Book of Job?  Skin in behalf of skin and man will blaspheme God to save his skin.  (That’s paraphrased.)

And as for “incongruities in faith,” I should think that if one has full faith in Jah and in his Son there are no incongruities in faith.
That's the wisest thing I have seen on this board, Chad (or any other for that matter).

Let us have Peter's humilty and Chad's faith!
Just a thought...

...Jesus said forgive a brother 70 times 7...

...and asks if we will leave in John 6:68.

Is there a numerical significance to the Lords teaching in that?

Are we to do one and two more things... when our own brother makes us feel like quitting?
Thank you for the compliment and responses to Godservant and company.

A guy torched litterally his ex and her familly on Christmass eve.  Maybe I was feeling that in the spiritual realm.

Paul said he was with the Corinthians in Spirit.

It is like if your feelings don't match your faith you have to remember the facts.
Yes, I too was saddened by the Christmas madness.

You are right, if our feelings don't match our faith, our feelings must change... and change in the light of the one who has more faith.

And if our actions don't match the feeling we have in Christ, that we know we have, our actions must change.

But as you said, without Christ, where would we even go?
