What answer do I give to someone who is appalled at the Israeli bombing of the Gaza strip?

That it is appalling, but Israel has every right to defend herself, by
any means. Just as any other country does.

Was this person also appalled by the hundreds of rockets launched
from Gaze into Israel?

Israel has been beseiged by hundreds of rockets with little if any
response. Enough is enough.

That although civilians in Gaza are being killed, this is unintentional
as a) unfortunately there are always civilian casualties in war
and b) the Palestinians are well known to put their terrorists in
the midst of their civilian population.

However, the rockets from Gaza are ALWAYS aimed at civilian
targets in Israel, and not at military locations. This is the
intentional killing (or attempt at killing) of civilians.

Perhaps relate it at a personal level. If someone is coming with
a knife to kill this person and their family, are they going to:
a) fight the other person with a knife to keep it "fair" or
b) go after them with the biggest and best means they have
to protect them and their loved ones? Personally, I would go
after the biggest arrmament I could get my hands on.

Tell them that when Hamas quits launching rockets, and
removes it's vow to destroy Israel, then Israel will be more
than happy to stop its defense measure, and to live by
the agreed truce.

Well said, Sheitl.  I'm glad someone finally posted something about this.  I applaud Israel for standing up against Hamas.  They have every right to defend themselves and G-d's land.  My prayers are with Israel and their leaders!!! I stand behind them 100%!!!

Lorraine, perhaps have your friend look at the statistics of the death rate.  On the average within the last few days 2 mortalities on Israel's side (which I am so sorry to those families) and over 375 on the Hamas side.  So, ask her where she thinks G-d's hand just might be.   The numbers speak for themselves.  G-D continue to protect Israel!!!!

Personally I don't like the about 400 deaths in Gaza allready. Maybe there was another way? But how. Such a person should come with a good answer, what to do agains about a thousend rockets flying into your country.
I am for that we are defending ourselves.

Besides that the almost 100.000 Iraki deaths since 5 years is more repelling I think. Mainly because it was not about wapons of mass destruction, but about oil-benefits. The U.S. used depleted uranium and napalm-like bombs against terrorists in neighborhoods.
Yes it is repelling maybe, i would say.
But the main thing Hamas kids learn is hate hate hate... so what can we do, let him give an answer.

I always find it interesting that when Israel fights back the newspapers always show a Palistinian child bleeding but there is total silence when its Israel getting attacked and no pictures of Israeli children wounded or killed.

Palistinian Fatah came to  a gun fight and brough squibs the Israelis brought cannon crackers. Palistinian is synonomous with coward....they only fight women and children and unarmed men.

Your friend is one of those usefull idiots that terrorists need...ask your friend if someone was picking of her relatives from their backyard with a .22 and the cops did nothing exept blame them would they say okay no problem or would they take a .357 and take out the shooter?

Well that's what Israel did since the Useless Nations panders to racists and anti-semites only condemns Israel and NEVER the terrorist states.  

I've found too many folks don't care about the facts on the ground and just hate Israel and Jews regardless, using things like this as lame excuses. Israel should obey Moses and listen to Kahane and expel their sworn enemies completely, drive them out in utter defeat, or all this will have been for nothing.

G-d will judge between them, and He will defend those who are blameless. Nevertheless, Israel should get rid of its nuclear weapons. Not even G-d would destroy an entire city if there were eight just persons living in it.
