I urge everyone to pray for our new President.
For wisdom and integrity.
For courage and strength.
For protection and peace.
I ask you, LORD, to bless him and his family, as well as our nation.
Amen.

This *is* a historic day in America.
It takes me back to days when I heard a young boy (about 8) called names in public that no little boy should hear, by high school age racist bullies, only because of the color of his skin.
To a time when I was told that a very good, and well educated woman would not be promoted only because of the color of her skin.
To a time when I was chastized as a retail store manager (by neighboring store managers) because I had dared hire 2 black high school kids (of three new Christmas employees) because they WERE THE BEST OF THE APPLICANTS.
And ALL OF THOSE OCCASIONS happened in the mid-1980's. Long after Jim Crow had "ended", and Dr. King was assasinated.
I hope that THIS is the true beginning of Dr. King's Dream realized, and "our little children will be judged on the content of their character, not the color of their skin." It's a day I have long awaited. And THAT thought makes me tear up with hope and joy.
May God bless my precious country and her people.
For wisdom and integrity.
For courage and strength.
For protection and peace.
I ask you, LORD, to bless him and his family, as well as our nation.
Amen.

I thought it was a bit tacky how they "saw him out" with throwing shoes!
