I asked this to mothers of young children and they often get a confused then guilty look on their face before admitting to useing bubble bath or something like that.
Since I am divorced I like to just go to the park on the spur of the moment and not even take the dog. Then it is for me, me, me just me.
I don't know if it is selfish or what? But I sometimes do not answer the phone or the door. no matter who it is. I would like to think I am not alienating anyone, but I pretend I am not at home or my phone is charging at times when I really just ignored it's ringing.
I also have movies instead of television, I have my laptop and movies from the blockbuster online mail order club. I don't own a t.v. either.
And finally I guess the best of all is pizza. I make my own french bread pizza (all kinds! very experimental stuff..lol) and have a beer or two with it.
but these are truly the things that I do in private for myself..though I really do not have kids or husband so it is not in lieu of the responsible...
