1) I started thinking about this when in January they found a Lobster that was so heavy he must have been 140 years old.  THey gain a pound or so every year.  The threw George back and wondered how the basket picked him up.

2) Turtles live to be almost 200 but I already knew about that.

3) They found a 410 year old clam based on the growth rings.

4) I was looking for animals but found some intresting things on trees thousands of years old.  a) A date seed from Jesus' time was sprouted and now 5 feet tall or more in Israel.  They wonder if it has special healing properties lost in modern dates.  Did it germinate cause it had Jesus saliva on it?  b) Methusala was a pine tree in UK about 5000 years old and on in scottland never cut down yet is that old to about.  c) A fig tree is over 2000 years old. d) It says it is common for Olive trees to be thousands of years old.

So when Deuteronomy says is a tree a man that you cut it down it makes me think about how you wouldn't want to kill someone if you knew they would live to be 1,000 like a tree.

To get giant pearls for New Jerusalem you will need some really big old Clams!

What other animals live to be old besides George the Lobster?
some birds can live 80-90 years I think
I went to Wikipedia and found these listed, Chad, and I have to say that the majority of the species that have been graced with longevity are bird or reptile...or fish!  so, mammals with live birth are so very, very much more fragile!

*Some koi fish have reportedly lived up to over 200 years, the oldest being Hanako, died at an age of 215 years on July 7, 1977

*The tuatara can live well above 100 years. Henry, a tuatara at the Southland Museum in New Zealand, mated for the first time at the age of 110 years in 2009 with an 80-year-old female and fathered 11 baby tuataras.

*A female Blue-and-yellow Macaw named Charlie was reportedly hatched in 1899, which would make her 110 years old, as of 2009. Her age has not been independently confirmed and the claim may not be reliable. She formerly belonged to Winston Churchill

*The deep-sea hydrocarbon seep tubeworm Lamellibrachia luymesi (Annelida, Polychaeta) lives for over 170 years

*George the lobster was been estimated to be approximately 140 years old in January 2009

bye for now,
kimberly
