On Thursday afternoon I was in discussion with a Christian Pentecostal Minister who  mentioned that there were eight Jewish "born again"
experiences -- some of those being circumcision, marriage, conversion to Judaism, and the greatest, becoming a Rabbi past the age of 40.

I had never heard this before. Can anyone confirm this and if so what are the the other experiences?

PS. It is good to be back (but maybe not for too long)

David J

Let me take a stab at the others- joining a messianic congregation?

Hi David  Smile
Well, I don't know where he get's that information from.
And I also dind't hear Jews connecting it to being born-again. So maybe it's an outside-Judaism invention to call it like that, so the experiances might be like that for bystanders?

To become a Rabbi after 40 is not that special I think.
Getting your circumsision on your 8th day, what is there born-again about?

For marriage or conversion you need a dive into the water, and that might have to do with becomming a new person, letting loose (from the past).
