The first thing that God spoke in Genesis is: Let there be Light.
Question...
Could it be that before the flood, or even during creation etc. there was a higher speed of Light, and are there in space maybe other ranges of Light that we don't notice, or can't measure yet.?
Maybe understanding is light. A full understanding or revelation of Truth. I think we are all in some small way getting at the Truth. When Y'shua said, "I am the way, the Truth and the life", I believe he gave us our way back to the Father if we trust in him for our salvation.
