I heard this on the radio-

several weeks after the 911 tradgedy...

Are there any spokesmen for the Muslim nation-
Clerics, Imams or any one in a leadership position
that will be a man and stand up and publicy
denounce (condemn) acts of terrorism against the
innocent people of Law abiding non-muslim countries?

Are the Hamas, Hezbollah and PLO the only evidence
of Muslim activity there is in the known world?

If not, why do they not declare war as a coalition of
Islamic nations against the countries where there are
standing armies that can defend their own?

Can someone please answer this question(s)?

Are terrorist guilty of the following?

For example, when a person sees the following verse from the Quran they may be shocked and begin to believe much of the rhetoric:

And kill them wherever you catch them (2:191)

This incomplete portion of this verse is often used by those people who seek to stir up hatred and misunderstandings between Muslims and non-Muslims. And to make matters worse, some of the illiterate and uneducated poor in some Muslim countries have declared this to be their evidence for killing non-Muslims.

Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not be the transgressors; for Allah does not love those who transgress. [190] And kill them wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for persecution and oppression are worse than killing; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the reward of those who deny faith. [191] But if they cease, Allah is Forgiving, Most Merciful. [192] And fight them on until there is no more persecution or oppression, and justice and Faith in Allah prevail; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression. [193]

..for there to be "no more persecution or oppression" ..

Deuteronomy 20:5-8
"Then the officers of the army will address the troops and say, `Has anyone just built a new house but not yet dedicated it? If so, go home! You might be killed in the battle, and someone else would dedicate your house!  Has anyone just planted a vineyard but not yet eaten any of its fruit? If so, go home! You might die in battle, and someone else would eat from it!  Has anyone just become engaged? Well, go home and get married! You might die in the battle, and someone else would marry your fiancée.'  Then the officers will also say, `Is anyone terrified? If you are, go home before you frighten anyone else.'

..in a perfect world..."the oppressors" are only on the battle fields.

May the possibility for battle be less and less viable because more and more men want to build and marry and produce food for the hungry!

Today I talked to a banking guy. He was an ex-marine. He said He wanted to go back (re-enlist). I thought to myself, in the armed forces
you have a common enemy. That unites diverse ideas about everything.

I asked him about family, and He said He wasn't married and didn't have any children. His two older brothers were servicemen.

On another occasion a "lifer" in the MP marines was asked, "Why are you
a career soldier?" His response was "Better me than somebody else." He was a college grad. and Academy trained officer.

I do not know the point I am trying to make, except maybe, I am glad when I was in, that we were not at war, because at that time I had no idea the seriousness and finality of death.

I went to a church where one of the sucessful businessmen believed free trade to be the most beneficial policy for sustaining economic growth.
yeah, it would be understandable...war...if only the 'bad guys' lost their lives.

terrorism is the new weapon of choice; not so new a weapon, but with so many many new forms of ammunition.

I remember seeing the history books in school show the families taking lunches to the battle fields to watch the battles!! can you imagine?  this was the 70's when I remember seeing that and I could not imagine the idea of being safe from harm watching others be killed and wounded on the battle field!?

Now in the 2000's it would be only a cartoon notion that such a thing took place..acme roadrunner and wiley coyote stuff.

Obama urged The EU to accept Turkey. Turkey is already a member of the G-20. Turkey has the second largest military in Nato and has deployed troops to fight terrorism in Afghanistan, along with the US.

His Specific statement was, "We are not at war with the Muslims."
France and Germany were less receptive to the idea of Turkey joining the EU.

so, who's economic growth.  I shy away from plans that use the 'workforce' to give a stable economy to the 'idea man'

what ever happened to just being able to work so that you could afford to enjoy your life?  Instead it is about being so productive so much of your time and you must always remember someone younger, with a lot less on their plate than you, is trying to get to the level you have achieved at a younger age....

economic growth is a politically correct term for reaping where you have not planted! in my opinion.

Free trade of food stuffs specifically those traded on the futures market corn, wheat, soybeans can stabilize or destabilize an economic outlook or forecast.

That is why Christ fed people to make the bread more palatable.
