Your First Name
I am first year graduate student taking a diversity class at Azusa Pacific University. I was asked to look at another culture other than my own, based on stereotypes, and misconceptions, so I chose Jewish culture. I visited the Museum of Tolerance, and I wanted to know more about Jewish culture. Part of the reason is because I am apart of the Judeo-Christian faith, but have no real knowledge of Judaism of the culture.
1. If asked by a non-Jewish person what you cherish about Judaism, what would you say?
2. What do you believe or think about God and does this hinder you academically in any way?
3. What has Judaism taught you that will help me understand your culture?
4. How do you feel about diversity on your campus? As a Jewish person do you feel like you are being treated well?

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions, this will help me so much. If you would like please send reply to reecemo87@hotmail.com or cdw0220@aol.com

Hello Reece,

I'll give it a try.

1- Torah
2-Omnipotent, the Master of all Creation, All Knowing and Powerful, Merciful and full of Grace.
3-We are to focus on helping others.
4-I'm not on a campus. Am I being treated well? By G-d, yes, by mankind, yes and no.

Sorry to be so brief, I didn't have the time to get too "deep".
this forum is probably not the best place to answer such questions-
I would recommend trying a Jewish forum, not a Messianic one.
what's the difference? I don't understand. I sorry if I offended you or anyone. I didn't know. I needed help so I asked.
Reece,

I don't think you offended anyone. Jews for Jesus, are Jewish people who believe Jesus is the promised Jewish Messiah. On this board, some Jewish people believe Jesus is the promised Messiah and some Jewish people don't believe Jesus is the promised Messiah. Also there are Gentile participants who believe on Jesus and some Gentile participants who don't believe Jesus.

Sheitl thinks if you have a question about Jewish people, it would be better to take it to a board where the Jewish people don't believe Jesus is the Jewish Messiah, since the majority of Jewish people don't believe Jesus.

If you ask a Jewish person who believes on Jesus what they cherish about Judaism, they might say that God chose the Jewish people and preserved the Jewish people, giving them the laws and the promise of the Messiah, Jesus.

For a Jewish person who rejects Jesus as Messiah, their answer would be different.
Indeed Reeceo7 I don't think this is the best place to ask. For this is a discussionforum with to many often not recognized opinions where the borderline of Jewish culture is.
I don't know what youre culture is, but it's the same as asking Bahaii, what it is to be a muslim... some Bahaii-peole come from a muslim background, and might consider themselves still muslim with extra rules. But general muslims don't consider Bahaii as a muslim tradition...
Or it's more or the less the same as asking an Canadian-Indian what it is to be an Aztec, and how it does feel that Chavez is helping the indians.

There are some simularities but it's not the same. Messianic ''Judaism'' has to many Christian influences to be considered Jewish, according to a huge mayority of Jews.
Besides that there are differences on idea's/phylosophy and goals I saw between Messianics and regular Jews. I know quite some Jews who feel closer to Islam than to Messianic-Judaism for that's to Christian/Foreign.
But I live in Israel, and the Roots/Phylosophy towards Islam are older than Christians.
I also don't feel always treated well by Messianics, and the other way arround that might be the same...

I might write you later a personal messages via this site. About what I as Jew think.
But first of all I don't know from what background you are, so I can understand who I'm talking too.

Greetings
