No... thursday.
Christ rose on the Sabbath, which for the Jews is Saturday.
Symbollically, this is important because the height of the controversy happened in what was (and still is) considered the middle of the week.
Seen Christ in the middle somewhere else (LOL)?

Shynu,
I don't believe Christ was crucified on Friday either. I think the Friday idea came about through Catholicism somehow. The scriptures teach He was to be in the tomb 3 nights and days and to arise on the 3rd day. This can be counted through either a Thursday crucifixion or a Wednesday time line. I've seen both explained well, but never a Friday.
There are other threads here about the same thing with lengthy (lengthy) discussions with links to further material, such as this one: http://forums.jewsforjesus.org/showthrea...amp;page=1
Hope that helps.

Yes, the crucifixion took place on Friday. Please refer to Luke, Chapter 50, Verses 50-56. Jesus remained in the Tomb over the Sabbath and rose on Sunday morning, the first day of the week.

Oh wait!
You mean, "when did He hang on the cross"... that is a different question to when in time did Christ get crucified.
I concur with Chow_woman that it must have been Wednesday.
The bigger picture is important now... since I have confused you:
There are three crosses, so also there are three sets of days - mon tue wed, Christ being betrayed in the middle; tue wed thur, with Christ being hung on the cross in the middle; wed thur fri, Christ falling into decay in the middle (in the grave - that's what I was thinking of when I tried to answer your questio before).
These are the sufferings of Christ: betrayal, crucifiction and decay.
The resurrection forms a set of three days also: fri sat sun, with Christ sharing the Sabbath with the disciples (appearing in the room, symbolically rising from _decay_) in the middle.
From this I can see that Christ is Himself "a Day" in a sense, being in the midst of these twelve things the whole time...
Really, I am sorry I confused you and Chow_woman et al., I have had to think about all this now... for a moment, I really interpreted your question as refering to the decay and the crucifiction at the same time and got confused myself (thinking of resurrection from the grave on the one hand and then the popularly celebrated resurrection from the world on the Sunday, on the other (hand)).
The point is that the way out is to seek more detail till it makes sense!

Good Friday is a Myth;
Jesus Died on a Wednesday!!
During Passover we had two Sabbaths falling on the one week. The weekly and the annual Sabbaths. This has already been discussed on a previous thread.

I must respectfully disagree with the above. The Scripture clearly states that the Body of Jeshua was removed from the Cross and buried prior to the beginning of Shabat, (Friday evening). The Body was discovered to be misssing on the first day of the week which was Sunday during that time.

GD,
There were 2 Sabbaths that week--the regular Friday evening/Sat. Sabbath plus the High Holy Day of Passover which was treated as a Sabbath. You can read a lot more detail in that link in the above post. I don't think it's necessary to rehash it all.

It is a misguided assumption to assume that the disciples "were there" the instant Christ Jesus was resurrected...
...that said, I am clearly wrong about Christ sharing the Sabbath with the disciples - on exactly the same point (it was the sunday He shared, since that is - as gentile disciple rights points out - what the scriptures say)!
My conjecture is that He wrestled with the Devil for a Day for the fate of the people of the world concerning His resurrection.
It is a pity we do not have a full account of what was revealed during the forty days Christ walked with His disciples in Spirit, but I suppose that was for them (and there is God's mercy in that).
