Sometimes when I look at the immense financial beauracracy that the Church has become down through the ages, I cannot help but wonder if this is what Jeshua had in mind when he declared "Thou are Peter and upon this Rock, I will build my Church". Any thoughts?
Can you give some examples of "financial beuaracracy"? How does the financial system of the Catholic Church differ from other Christian organizations?
I guess my question should be...Did Jeshua envision a multi million dollar corporation that often falls short of the Master's mission.
I’m still wondering why you are singling out the Catholic Church in this regard. What makes the Catholic Church a “corporation” any more than any other denomination? And how does the financial position of the Catholic Church differ from any other denomination?
I imagine the Catholic Church is just as Jesus had envisioned. The early church pooled their money together. Jesus knew the Church would grow. So I’m sure the finances the Catholic Church and all other denominations are blessed with are part of God’s plan. As for “falling short of the Master’s mission”, this too is prophesied in the Bible.
Is there a particular issue you are struggling with that is unique to Catholicism?
Thanks for your reply. It's food for thought.
What makes the Catholic Church a “corporation” any more than any other denomination?
Jesus, the founder of Christianity,
was the poorest of the poor. Roman Catholicism, which claims to be His church, is the richest of the rich,
the wealthiest institution on earth.
David
Besides that. In Judaism The Almighty wanted a huge Temple with Gold and everything.
In Protestantism saving Money on a bank became more important (like especially in Calvinistic nations like Scottish, Dutch and Swiss, but also the U.S.A.).
So what is the difference?
Hiob was poor and later rich, no problems. Also Abraham was rich.
Difference maybe is that in The priestly system, the people gave about 10 percent or a bit more to the Temple. But it also ment that about 2 of the 12 tribes where totally busy with taking care of the people, curing certain illnesses, judging, and doing God's work in the Temple.
Sometimes the Churches nowadays ask 10 percent of their income. But is also 10 percent of Churchmembers taking care of the community as a whole. Maybe that should be the question. In most modern systems people got used to think in bureaucratic systems indeed.
But behind bureautic systems are people that can improve the system. That is in all denominations.
