There is a mystery held within the glory of God that I cannot yet give Him in total what He deserves, or at least feel confident I am worthy without the love and sacrifice of Jesus. That in turn keeps me going toward Him. To ask in Jesus name that I would be able to accomplish the will of the Father is not always available in the specific terms I would like.
Jesus promised us His Holy Spirit, and through His spoken words did give us enough instruction to know we can do nothing without Him. From the time of His resurrection, He has promised His Holy Spirit, and that all who call on His name, and believe He is Messiah and allow Him to be their Lord He will lead into ALL truth.
I think it was John who said, if our heart condemn us God is greater than our heart. In prayer I may try and apprehend something or gather a portion of how good God really is and what His will for me might be, and yet at that same instant the reality of who I am is present. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus.
John also said, if our heart condemn us not we have confidence toward Him. I believe God knows the desires of our heart, and wants us to experience Him fully. There is a reality- the cross we sometimes think we bear alone is a heavy load.
Heb.13
[5] He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Romans 8
[26] Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
