Hi Rabbi Yisroel ben Avrohom,

I saw this and thought you would find it interesting and amusing:

Oy Gevalt! Confused
Rabbi; Could I ask another uneducated question. What does ;Oy Gevalt mean?, and also , I bet the Jews would have loved Kit Kats falling from Heaven when walking forty years around Mt. Sinai! .[ The Kit Kat bar]That is funny! Maybe they should send it to the Pope; the part with Jesus's face on the bitten out part of it ?but somehow,I don't think it fell from heaven!Shalom

Oh My! The second coming!
Now, Yisroel, I am disappointed in you for not noticing that the face in the Kit-Kat bar bears a remarkable resemblance to the late Lubavitcher Rebbe Schneerson.

Oy is Oy and Gevalt means heaven. So it might be translated as "Good heavens!"

Well the Manna would taste of whatever one wanted it to taste of, even, I guess, Kit Kats! Mrgreen

Well a double Gevalt then!
The saying 'foolish mortals' comes to mind.

Because, it really sickens me to no end.  Why would we approve of an apparition and NOT, say again...NOT believe it has already been done, that the bible says He indwells his creation?

The spirit we 'seek to see' in kit kat bars, wasn't that supposed to be the same HOLY SPIRIT that would work in each of us if we obeyed?  And given to each one who believes!  And dwells inside!  And was poured out!

It is the height of IGNORance to think such great things are possible with the one ...a sighting in a kit kat bar...
and yet show very, very little remorse for all the thousands of days that have gone by without using the One HOLY SPIRIT dwelling inside of you who believe!

Shame on anyone of us who chooses to jump up for joy when an apparition appears!  Sell your inheritance for a bowl of stew today, at least you will get a bowl of stew out of your efforts!

The time to believe is now, the time to act is now, the Word indwells the creation; call on the name of the LORD all you men of promise!

bye for now,
kimberly

P.S.  really that proves the resurrection? 2cor517, Isn't it anything at all to you that He Lives?  wasn't it enough?  can't your heart hear Him calling you, today?  Why are you still trying to prove He rose?  Haven't the conversations you had with Him been proof enough, and undisputable at that, right?  I would stick to first hand experience when it comes to the resurrection, please.  I know Paul did, as did all those of the disciples...it is the way we defend, not any process or means of proof, dear son.  Defend the Way.

bye for now,
kimberly

I know there is  a clause in the commandments of no graven images! I wonder if that applies to edible images as well?
Hi Rabbi Yisroel ben Avrohom,

After watching the video, In Pursuit of the Shroud, I found the following web pages explaining the associations
of historical artistic depictions of Jesus with the Shroud of Turin.

Notice in particular the mention of the "Vignon Markings".

"In the 1930's, French Shroud scholar Paul Vignon described a series of common characteristics visible in many early artistic pictures of Jesus. The Vignon marking, as they are known, all appear on the Shroud suggesting that it is the source of later pictures of Jesus:"

Above quote is from:

Pictures of Jesus from the Shroud of Turin?

The website below and it's related pages have interesting comparisons / overlays between The Shroud and historical artistic depictions of Jesus.

The Christ Pantocrator Icon, and it's apparent relation to the Shroud of Turin

Info on The Pantocrator, the word, and the Icon at Saint Catherine's Monastery

In the following links there are video clips from The Learning Channel's movie, In Pursuit of the Shroud.

The video has a lot of interesting historical detective work in it.

Apparently, as of this writing, the video has not been converted to DVD.
For any Americans interested in getting a copy, there were a few VHS tapes available at Amazon: In Pursuit of the Shroud (the first link in this post had the European format Video tape).

Shalom Yisroel.
Sometimes we forget the commandment Exodus 20:4, You shall not make for yourselves any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is is Heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that which is in the sea. I guess thats why Modern art is so popular!
