My name is Scott.  I've read about what Jews for Jesus is doing, and I am glad there is an organization that is zealous about reaching others for Jesus.

Just to give a little information about myself, I have been a Christian since I was about 11 years old.  I found a marked New Testament that my mom had received in the mail. I read through the verses that spoke about man's sin and God's forgiveness available through Jesus, and I accepted Him at that moment.  I've been through a lot of things for Jesus, and I've seen positive changes in my life, but I have struggled for the last few years since high school with assurance of my salvation.

When I was a senior in high school, I struggled with serious doubts about whether God even existed.  I told myself, "If God doesn't exist, then what does it matter how I live?"  I tried to push Him out of my mind for a week or two, before I finally felt convicted and repented.  Since then, I've been afraid verses such as Hebrews 6:4-6 applied to me, and I threw away my salvation.  I got married about a month ago, and my wife is really saddened by my doubts.  She said she would not have married me if I were not a Christian, and she did not feel God warn her against marrying me.  Also, I feel God was showing me mercy in allowing me to marry her, because a month after we married, my mom was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer.  (Please, please, please, pray that my mom could come to know the Lord and if possible, be healed).  I was just curious, is there anyone who would be willing to talk to me?  I know this ministry is primarily for reaching the Jewish people with Jesus, but I need help.  Are there any resources I could look at, and is there something I need to do?

Thank you for your consideration, and I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hello Scott, I went through the same thing you did, the whole concept of te unforgivable sin. That's what I'm getting from your post if I'm correct.

Let me first start out by saying that the very fact that you are concerned is proof enough that you can come back to God. The unforgivable sin is just that, the hardening of ones heart to the point where you no longer want to be forgiven! The pharisees accused Jesus of sorcery, they had hardened their hearts beyond repentance. The fact that you want to be forgiven means you can be.

As for Hebrews, I believe it refers to those who know that Christ is there, but leave to never come back. I find many passages saying we can come back if we leave God. Check these out:

7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

And, in Revelations,

20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.  21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. Revelation 3:20-21

The most explicit though is found in the parable of the lost son in the Gospel of Luke. Chapter 15. The son explicitly knew his fathers home was good, yet he left to find  "the good life" in sin. He was enlightened, but he left. He, however, was restored to repentance and returned to his father. His father accepted him back with open arms, and he will do the same for you. God Bless, Kyle
Hi Kyle.  Thanks for replying to my post.  It's good to meet you.
Dear Scott
How terrible this news must be about your mother,i feel for you and her.  I will pray for your mother and I will pray for you to find the courage to stand strong in your faith .

I am moved about  what you said"  I was just curious, is there anyone who would be willing to talk to me?  I know this ministry is primarily for reaching the Jewish people with Jesus, but I need help.  Are there any resources I could look at, and is there something I need to do?"
Dear Scott
I am here for you if you need me ,i am here to talk to you .
I know how you must feel, to have some one you love so dearly being diagnosed with cancer
Our youngest son just 16 years old had cancer but he is cured now
,he never doubt this would happen .
He always tooled us "if god can open the red see to free his people out of Egypt,he surely has the power to remove the cancer out of my body .
He never doubt God He knew God could do this .
His faith did teach us (parents) to have complete 100% trust in Yeshua.
If we live ore if we die we live ore die in our God YHWH/Yeshua my Son always said ,how true are these words.
Dear Scott ,be strong...
I know God is mercy and he can open the eyes for his truth for all who are looking for this truth.
I believe you can help your mother in such a way you never thought you could.
God will help you to find a way.
Be strong and trust your Lord .

Your sister in Yeshua .

Well said brother ,well said !

You know what I feel the beauty is in this story ?
That father already stands in the door to see if he sow his Son coming home, and as soon he sow him he run to him .

God is a loving father ,his arms are not to small he will come and reach out to you before we reach out to him he already come to you to comfort you to love you to help you , you will be loved in such a way you never felt before.
God is love and we are his children.
Do read this verse ;Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me;
because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the humble.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
    and release to those who are bound;
61:2 to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; 61:3 to appoint to those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.
61:4 They shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. 61:5 Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and foreigners shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. 61:6 But you shall be named the priests of the LORD; men will call you the ministers of our God: you will eat the wealth of the nations, and you will boast in their glory.
61:7 Instead of your shame you shall have double; and instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be to them.
61:8 “For I, the LORD, love justice, I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them. 61:9 Their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all who see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD has blessed.”
61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 61:11 For as the earth brings forth its bud, and as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

How beautiful !
I've read about what Jews for Jesus is doing, and I am glad there is an organization that is zealous about reaching others for Jesus.

I read in Luke 19 this:19:39 Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Rabbi, rebuke your disciples!”

19:40 He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”

SEE, to the Jews gentiles are stones , they are death .
But even the stones would cry out Yehua says.
Yes even gentiles know who God savior of the world is
It is:
Yeshua our Messiah.

No one can boast .
Only God is in comment not some organization .
only God spirit works in all his children only he can move us to speak the truth,(1Joh2:26-29).

We are a tool in Gods hand.

Welcome to the forum!
Scott,  I also went through a time when I thought that Hebrews 6 might apply to me. The key to this kind of person referred to is that he is not able to repent again.  If you can repent, and wish for God to cleanse you of sin, then you are not this person.  Romans 5:9 was very helpful to me at that time, as it shows that if God begins a work in a person's heart when he is a sinner far from God, how much more will God work with a person after he has been reconciled to God.  It is NOT the case that God says, I gave you some blessings, but you blew it, so forget you.  Hebrews 6 is about God saying, To show what your heart was like, I allowed you to receive my blessing, but you show that you never had a heart for My blessings, so there is no way for you to go onward.  A parallel passage is II Peter 2:20-22.  The question is, Are you a son, maybe a prodigal son per Luke 15, who ends up in the pig pen, but comes to himself and longs for the Father's house, or are you a pig who gets into the Father's house for a while, but longs to get back out and roll in the mud again?  Romans chapter 7 is another helpful passage, because it shows that we are composed of two parts, the inner man and the flesh. The flesh brings forth nothing but thorns and thistles, but our inner man longs to follow God's Law.  That is the key.

Although I don't have a hotline to God, from the way you express your struggles and your concerns I don't sense that you are a pig who delights in wallowing in the mud, but rather a son who is struggling with doubts and perhaps weaknesses of the flesh.  Jesus gave the promise in John 6:37, "... him that comes to me I will in no way cast out."  If you come to Jesus, committing yourself to him, you are not the man Hebrews 6 refers to, and He will receive you.

A very good case history in this regard is the life of John Newton.  He went back and forth between religious person and evil infidel several times, then after he finally trusted in Christ, he again wandered from the faith to a certain point, yet he saw God pull him back one more time, and he spent the rest of his life as a grateful servant of God.

Interestingly enough, there is a Messianic Jewish resource to help answer your question. Believe me; I still doubt that I'm saved, let alone that salvation, is eternal sometimes. I've agonized over Hebrews 6:4-6 as well, but have also learned that those who fall away from being Christians are "Christians" who never (even at their last moment alive) come back to being Christians.
