Hi everyone! I haven't been on in a long time. I have been studying and learning many things. I need some help though. I have learned that all our holidays we know of are pagan in origin (including birthdays!)...that's why we don't know when Yeshua's is...
I've learned our calender and time frame is all wrong and that we are forsaken commmandments given by our Lord. I've learned that the Feasts of the Lord were and are a shadow of things to come and that's why we should still be keeping them instead of these man made holidays! He had them keep them in the past and says we will keep them in the future when he reigns...so why wouldn't we keep them now?
Ok, so here's the help I need. I don't really know anything at all about how to keep these feasts and Sabbaths...any help? Also, I don't want to know any "rules" that are man made (Yeshua warned against these). Thanks!

Hi krisi,

There are as many opinions about your topic as there are posters here on the JfJ forums.

Using the scriptures as guide, here is mine.

Read Romans 14 carefully--you are under no obligation to observe "special" days to the Lord.

If you are interested in the Jewish Feast Days and their prophetic implications, I highly recommend The Feasts of the Lord teaching by Mark Blitz of El Shaddai Ministries (click on the blue type to follow the link)

On The Feasts of the Lord page, you can click on the pictures of the DVD disks to hear a portion of that teaching.

krisi please read my posts on this thread Is Christmas a pagan Holiday?.

There are many Christians today with bad conscience that are breaking the command of Romans 14 (keep your bad conscience to yourself) and are ruining others' consciences concerning celebrations of Jesus' birth and resurrection that they have been celebrating with joy and clean conscience--to the glory of God.

If someone asks you-- if you don't observe special days, or why you don't celebrate special days -- you are free to answer their inquiry. You should not make it your mission to get everybody to observe/not observe special days to the Lord according to the dictates of your own conscience. Nor should you accept anyone trying to impose their conscience on your faith concerning special days to the Lord (These are the rules of men you are concerned about).

There is freedom in Christ concerning disputable matters--such as special days.

Jesus said what you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, what you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Part of the meaning of this promise is that; if you celebrate special days to the Lord to glorify him--he will accept it as true worship in heaven.
Or, if you abstain from celebrating special days--to honor God by taking joy in every day the Lord graces you with--he will receive that in shared joy with you as holy.

Meet with other believers of like mind and be at peace with yourselves and also be at peace with others who choose differently concerning this disputable matter.

With your knowledge of The Word, and the faith given you, follow the dictates of your conscience as guided by the Holy Spirit--and don't impose your understanding concerning disputable matters--for yourself--as a guideline for others to follow--allow them the same freedom Christ has given you. Praise him for his grace!

Continue in your studies krisi, and you will do well!

Whatever you do,
Do it all for the glory of God!

Thanks for your help. I read all of Romans 14 and believe it is speaking about regarding a day as fast or not..he that eateth to the Lord gives thanks and he that doesn't is also giving thanks...verse 6 clarifies that this is speaking of eating and not eating as verse 2 and 3 also. I believe we are to keep the Feasts of the Lord as they are a shadow of things to come...including the fall feasts which will be fulfilled when he comes back! I have learned much in the time I have been gone. Thanks for you help again.
