I know about Rash Hashona and week of atonement but what is Yom Kipper?
Week is starting off a little rocky but I am celebrating a holiday that is the end of the first week of the New Year and I really dont know much about it. Its a beautiful day today and the weather is really nice outside. Fall is slowly creeping in and the wind has a tad bit of a chill and it makes your face a little rosy and I love that. This is my favorite time of the year when the leaves start to turn and the coolness sets in. It was 70 degrees here the other day and downright cold! In Wyoming 70 degrees is a t-shirt and sandal day but here its a sign of fall and wearing sweaters. We have had cocoa already and all that fall brings with it, the weather, the warmer clothes, the hot drinks, warmer shoes, I love it all. Gds plans for the seasons and the timing of everything is truely beautiful.
Starting week off rocky but I refuse to allow the joy of this season to be surrendered over to the enemy of Gd. We must be making much progress because the adversary is quite upset and Gds people are filled with his love and peace, can life get any better than a holiday and a fall day when your in the arms of the Lord? I just dont think so. Happy Yom Kipper. If you can enlighten me as to exactly how this week is ending with Yom Kipper and what it truely means I would appreciate it. But regardless, have a good day and a good year ahead.
HOPE7, Shalom.

I am no expert, but, as I understand:  Yom Kippur (DAY of Atonement) is on Tishri 10, and is a 'One' day event, of Atoning for the past years Sin's, and if the Spirit of repentance is right, forgiveness is granted by God, to the individual and the Nation of Israel.

Tishri 10 is also the day when the year of Jubilee is declared, every fiftieth year.  IMO, the next Jubilee year will be the Hebrew year 5777, better known to Gentiles as 2017 (but starting in Sept. 2016).

Tishri 11 through 14 are non-eventful, and the Seven day Feast of Sukkot (Tabernacles) begins at sundown on Tishri 14.

There is an additional day for a feast on day eight after Sukkot starting day.  Many believe that this is the day that Messiah was circumcised, which would have Him being born on Day one of Sukkot.  It fits the time-frame, and logic of the Feast.

Off the cuff, that is about as much as I can come up with.  Someone else, I am sure, can give you a better input.

Thank you Arley!
I just ordered a book on Hanukah, please forgive me if my spelling is off, I will try to be better at it, so I could teach my family what that is about.
We learned today in our homeschooling book about another name for Gd, Jehovah-Tsidkuno......The Lord our Righteousness.
Gd bless you. Have a good evening.
Today is Yom Kippur, as God would figure, not as man has figured

By the time the mod allow's this to be seen, we will be looking at Sukot, but that's OK, we saw Yom Kippur today, whether we knew it or not.
