Hello everyone -

I am new to this forum.  I came across this website by referral of one of my Christian friends.  He says his church has a good relationship with this ministry as they work together.

I have been praying for God to show me what my calling is.  And, although I still long to know exactly what that is, He has spoken to me (in my heart) to continue to be steadfast in His word, studying daily and fellowshipping with my brothers and sisters and grow in love for the saved and unsaved.

*One of the things I desire to do (so far) is to help build a church.  I currently hold Friday night bible studies at my home and we are 8 people strong.  The student pastor who leads the studies is also looking for his calling, and what a joy it would be to help him pastor a church and build it together with him.  I am receiving blessings financially and am searching for the right place to put my tithes in.  So building a church would be a great joy.  In determining whether this is a "true calling" or just one of those nice things to desire, I get hope from Psalms 37:4 as I see I am delighting myself in the Lord and perhaps, just perhaps the desires I have, He has put in my heart!  Of course, it may take time to discover the intricacies of the calling.

*Another thing God has put in my heart is to long for the Jewish community (which is why I'm here) that are hungry, poor, homeless, or sick.  How can I reach out to this community?  Or can I possibly help build a church that would be inviting to the Jewish community to bring them to Christ?

Any pointers would help.  God promised me that if I fellowship with others, He will increase my knowledge in these very things.

In the name of Yeshua (Jesus) our Lord...
a-spec-of-the-body; I once started a church and helped an evangelist be the minister. One thing to do is lay down an agreement of responsibility. That one man does not have full charge, but decisions are shared by a body of Elders, or board. That was a great mistake I made as the pastor elected to do it his way , and no one could say different. Big Mistake! Lay down the rules , AND DON'T BE OVERTRUSTING! ALL MEN SHALL FAIL ONE ANOTHER, BUT JESUS SHALL NEVER FAIL US! Sorry, my caps were locked and I didn't look up. That could be a metaphor? Blessings and welcome to the forum , Robert
hello ,a speck-of the body.it is good to see you are for the Lord and the Lord's people. I  hope you don't mind my comment as i'm not Jewish that  I know of. i 'm thinking that one thing that would attract the Jewish community would be for the new built church to  take saterday as it's worshipday of rest . the Sabbath day. Isaiah 56 ; 6,7,8.--kjv.  " Also the sons of the stranger , that join themselfves to the Lord , to serve Him , and to love the name of the Lord , to be his servants , every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it it , and taketh hold of my covenant ;
  Even them will I bring to my holy mountain , and make them joyful in my house of prayer ; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine alter ; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people .
  The LORD GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith , yet will I gather others to him , beside those that are gathered unto him ."
Thanks guys for your input -

I really like the idea of building another Calvary Chapel (as it's the non-deonominational chain of churches that I attend).  But what a blessing it would be to be inviting to the Lord's people and allowing a Saturday worship for the Jewish Christians as well as keeping a Sunday worship for the rest.

I also like the idea of setting up a church with elders having a say in a lot of things.  I am for pastoral leadership but know power can be abused as we are all human.  I love the student pastor who leads our Friday night bible studies at my home.  He seems to disagree with the dictatorship (exagerating on the wording of course) type of churches and I see him as perfecting the Calvary Chapel to his greatest ability.  Not giving a bad name or anything as I love the CC's, but we all know we all fall short and the best we can do is pray about things and reason with one another.

So what do I do with this passion?  How do I know it's from the Lord?
