Full Version: Oneness Heresy and the name JESUS
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
The Oneness Pentecostals claim that JESUS is literally "the name" of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.  They do not understand that the phrase "in the name of" means "on behalf of" or "at the behest of", so they get confused comparing Matthew 28:19 with Acts 2:38 and think that some divine revelation is required to reconcile them.

They also teach that
(1) JESUS is the name of the Father, which is another name for the Holy Spirit
(2) CHRIST is the name of the Son, or human body
(3) Combining JESUS (the Father) with CHRIST (the Son) means the combination of "God the Spirit" fused with a human body.

Therefore a common myth among Oneness Pentecostals is the claim that no verse exists in the Bible which refers to JESUS as the "Son of God" unless it also includes the word CHRIST.

Of course, that is simply not true, and the Bible makes a tatters of the Oneness doctrine with the following devastating verses which speak of JESUS THE SON but do not contain the phrase "Christ":

Matthew 8:29 "And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?"

Acts 3:13 "The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go."

Acts 3:26 "Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities."

Acts 4:27 "For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,"

Acts 13:33 "God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee."

1 Thessalonians 1:10 "And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come."

Hebrews 4:14 "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession."

1 John 4:15 "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God."

CASE CLOSED!  Jesus is the name of God's Son.

YIL states:

#1 True..Name of Father...Jesus....Name of Holy Ghost ....Jesus.

verses can be found in other threads...
There is no other name for Holy Spirit other than Jesus

#2 False....we teach Jesus is the Name of God and the Son...One Person.

#3 False....Jesus is God in the flesh....God was in Chist or maybe JIL missed that scripture too.

False....there is no divine revelation needed....Peter was there when Jesus made the 28:19 statement and Matthew was there when Peter made his statemen...strange Matthew didn't censure Peter for not using the titles of Jesus.

Who is above ALL powers and principalities in heaven or in earth...which shoots down the theory of rank in God....there is only ONE Spirit.. God and only ONE man...Jesus....God in Christ...ONE

only heresy here is the three...flavor of the month..deity that is trintiy
3 persons...3 entities...3 who knows.

1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one
Father= God....Word = God...Holy Ghost=God....ONE SPIRIT

1Jo 5:8   And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

THe Spirit=God..agaree in one....JEsus ...God INCARNATE....ONE PERSON.

  Only heresy here is trintiy.....

Joh:10:29: My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Joh:14:28: Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

Jesus is God's ONLY Begotten Son.

Joh:16:3: And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
....
HOW CAN JESUS GO TO HIMSELF??
Joh:16:10: Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

Da:7:13: I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

No!

From the beginning to the end,

His name is DAY firstborn son of I AM!
Tanachreader:

Jesus is God's ONLY Begotten Son.

Joh:16:3: And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
-------------------------------------------------------
and the Father is?

Jhn 14:7 ¶ If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

I know who the Father is obviously you don't

as for going to the Father...no contradiction since the Father is in Him
the Holy Ghost...the flesh is lower then the Spirit.

1Ti 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Notice....it says GOD was MINIFEST in FLESH...NOT the SON since the son didn't exist ubtil he was born of Mary.

and what recieved Him?....His glory hich He laid down when He became a man.

2Cr 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
In addition, God the Father speaks to Jesus (Psalm 110:1) and Jesus and the Father speak in heaven (Psalm 2:6-7).  Jesus and God are called "two men" (John 8:16-18 "persons" in the literal Greek).

1 Corinthians 15:27-29 and Revelation 1:1 clearly show that Jesus is under the authority of God the Father in a role of submission even in heaven today.
okay Yeshua....
when you were baptised according to Matt 28:19

which of the 70 Names of God were you baptised with?
What Name was given for the Holy Ghost?

only name I've ever heard at a trinity baptism is Jesus

give it up...None of you even know the name of the Holy Ghost,,,
and calling him Ruach Hagodesh isn't a name...so prat tell
scripture where the name of the Holy Ghost is given.

Prophet,
Jesus, who before He was born a human visited Abraham
Said He was David's Lord.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego had been with Him as testified by Neb.
Da:3:25: He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
He prayed to His Father in the garden revealing that He had shared the GLORY with His Father before the WORLD EVEN EXISTED!

John:17:5: And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

"was" = einai  to exist, to be

There are 3 Thrones in Heaven where the multitudes of Heaven go before the Trinity to Hear and Worship God. One on the Left of the Father and One on the Right of the Father. God has shown me that Place. I have seen with my eyes.
The Holy Spirit has spoken to me in voice. The Voice of the Spirit sounds like a Rushing Wind, so Awesome, Holy and Powerful that my total being was held weak and still. The Mystery of the HOLY SPIRIT has been revealed to me. I have met the Holy Spirit.

Ge:1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

There are many mysteries of God that are not revealed to the World.
Prophet,
Again if the Holy Spirit ever speaks to you in an Audible Voice than the Words will pass through your total being of body, soul and spirit.
Isa:48:16: Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
The Speaker is the Lord, God's Son "..from the time that it was, there am I"
Sent by His Father and the Holy Spirit.
3 Persons
you are avoiding the question which was:

Which of the 70 Names of God were you baptized in?

and what was the Name of the Hloly Ghost?

saw a trinity baptism the other day...

went this way:

I baptize you in the Name of the Father, the Name of the Son and the Name of the Holy Ghost...funny no Names were mentioned...

maybe you didn't read: God's Name is Jesus

Jesus the created being is the begotten of the Father...Holy Ghost/Spirit which is God in His true state...Jesus is His visible state.
Jesus isn't IN the Godhead....Jesus IS the Godhead.

Show us that scripture where there are 3 thrones in heaven and
everyone comes before 3 persons...aint there....

There is only One Throne in heaven and Jesus sits on it in and no one else....The only one Judging anyone is God and that is Jesus.

and your two aren't persons they are Jesus one person and God whose Spirit bears witness of what He says.
