I don't know what to think of the video. I know that crime and poverty is very bad, over there. But, I have never understood the role of the media, or any photographer, when it comes to presenting the needs and the causes of others.
Having been an American all of my life, I know that people should always present their own needs and causes with their own media tools. This is why our cable television has public access channels and the equipment to help people tell their stories.
I can never believe that "THE MEDIA" will ever be more than a tool for the people who own it and operate the equipment to express their views about themselves. Even if it is just a reporter with a pencil.
And, for all their hard work and effort, all I can say about "THE MEDIA" is that they are legends in their own minds when they try to talk about the needs and the causes of other people.
In this country, people are free to speak for themselves!

i think it a fake.
the real russians would probably not allow her living in the airport.
you cant tell me that this woman isnt disrupting airport operations or that she cant just get up and walk out?
this is such an embarrassment for the russians, they would help her just to avoid it.
whos feeding them?
the russian people are not even close to being that indifferent. they wouldnt insist that their government help this woman.
i dont believe it. its gotta be a fake.

I find this video heartbreaking. Any sort of mistreatment of a mother and her children is awful. Are they prevented from just walking out? And if they are allowed to leave, where would they go?

I don't want to put you down so I'll simply quote what our Lord said. After all, He knows best!
Matthew 23:5-10 (New King James Version)
But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, 'Rabbi, Rabbi.' But you, do not be called 'Rabbi'; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ.
Do you see it?
I have yet another page that I would like for YOU to take a look at. It's very short but it should (With the help of our Father's Spirit) give you a better understand regarding what the bible has to say regarding the topic you bring up.

This man was a Catholic priest so I trust that you'll hear him out. If you have problems with the audio e-mail me via my front page and I'll help you out.
May God bless you...

Dear brother Jack.
Thank you for answering in charity, in the mind that is in Christ
Whatever people are, I hear them with an open heart as long as they love the Lord I love. I recognize that, as well as the sincerety that is first and foremost expressed in the love between brothers. Indeed this is the measure upon which their teaching can always be assessed.
I have listened to the audio. I heard about half of it since I dont have time to listen to it all and also there are many things to ponder in the half.. the man has done a serious and honest study but naturally I think certain things needed elaboration that he did not give in the part that I heard.. for one thing it is important not to quote some pope in history in order to say what is Catholic doctrine.. there are things that change within Catholic understanding and certain orders are tradition in time which are not held to be bounding.. such is celibacy. It is not doctrine.. also it cannot be stressed enough that misuse does not excuse non-use. The fact that there are lousy priests does not undermine the constitution of the priesthood .. and terrible behaviour is to be found everywhere. There was a leader of a huge american congregation who was recently found out to be a homosexual who had sexual relations with a male prostitute. Others can then throw venom at Christianity or this particular church - since the statistic when you think about the one pastor being immoral is like 100 percent - or you can choose to look at it in another way. I heard there are scandals in the orthodox church where the priests are however allowed to marry.. and I heard some borthers who said: "see, they are as perverted as the catholic whore of babylon.." I find that this sin of hatred is no less grave than the other transgressions, and I pray that the Christians may always remember Judas.. Even Jesus was wondering: "Have I not Myself chosen you twelve, yet one of you is a devil".. Judas had been with the Lord for three years, ..imagine all the beauty he has seen, and yet he betrays.. And I indeed think that statistics - if they are true(I am per definition always against beliveing in statistics) - do not serve to prove the Catholic priesthood is a misunderstanding, but much rather it shows that satan in targeting the priests more fiercely than perhaps ever before, because he knows the beauty of their vocation and the importance of their task. But this is my interpretation of reality..
The former priest there has good theoretical stances that I am not qualified to argue against. I will ponder it and pray over it like I have done with so many things (I can tell you I am so surprised at what the Lord has showed me through His Word alone when I asked Him although I had already made up my mind for eg. adult baptism, women priests etc.. God answers me in such direct ways..
but I am not gualified to discuss this before I have looked into the claims more deeply. Indeed I have sent it to some apologetics that I know to be very good, as I think this man's claims are important to answer. I could have wished he would have been as sober as to bring his arguments in front of a Catholic audience and people that could answer him instead of people who take his word as the last word and never consult Catholics about it. And that is what I hope you do too, brother.. dont be content listening to those who have left Catholicism but dive into Church history.. the further back the better.. ask your questions to knowing Catholics instead of asking anti-catholics.. Look into it on its own basis and not what anyone else holds it to be.. even ex-priests sometimes dont understand the Church they have left.. -- and then, when you really have seen it, then you combat it, if you find it wrong. No ex-priest should be able to tell you definitively what to think about the Catholic priesthood.. Yes.. I know you know that.
He deals with the Scriptural basis for celibacy and monasticism. I could have wished he also took into consideration the Tradition.. indeed, not tradition.. but the fact is that if you only once really firmly believe that the Lord has called someone into this priesthood.. or to be a nun (and its important here to understand that this does not undermine the order of Marriage but takes marriage up on an even higher level, as the Lord Himself steps into the place of the Bridegroom in a very concrete manner for these people.. that is, if He has indeed called the man or the woman for celibacy according to His words thru Paul that it is a fine way to live celibately for the Kingdom IF one is called for that. I for once know so many people who were called in through supernatural ways.. such as visions or locutions and they serve the Lord in so wonderful ways that I know He has blessed them.. many of these have the charismatic gifts.. they are real insiders and I have also talked to them about the difficulties in celibacy... and there are difficulties certainly.. just as there is much adultery among married couples, there are also temptations and falls in a celibate's life..
There is much more to say.. but I suggest you contact the apologetics on EWTN and challenge them with your points. they are too important to ignore and I am sure the brothers there would love the challenge.

Now to your other quotation from the Bible.. which is a very traditional attack on Catholicism. Call no man father.. call no man teacher.. I really gotta finish this up so I wont make quotes but ask you to kindly look these passages up into the Bible:
Luke 16:24
Rom 4:1-18
1 John 2:13-14
Acts 7:1-2
1 Kor 4:14-15
When it comes to fatherhood it is important to understand that anyone is father for real only in as much as he participates in that Fatherhood of God. When it comes to the teacher it is the same and you can find Bible passages that will serve this as well..
The question then amounts to this: howcome you dont call your ministers "father"?
Oh brother, may the Lord bless you in abundance too. I love you in Christ and I see your love for the Lord. Praised be that wonderful Name of Jesus <><

Believe me Katarina when I tell you that I know that Jesus is with a lot of people in the Catholic Church. I remember telling someone this and I was rebuked for it. Never the less, the Lord knows those who are His.
I also realize that all men are sinners. Catholics, Baptist, Pentecostal and so on. However, you would have to admit that the following scripture speaks directly about the Catholic Church.
1 Timothy 4:1-3 (New King James Version)
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
Pretty powerful wouldn’t you say?
I realize that when our Lord told us not to call men father that He was referring to matters of the heart, however, we should not call these men father since our God is a jealous God, and He will surely repay those who have corrupted us. Rather, we are (Biblically speaking) to call ourselves brothers. After all, that’s what we are.
Since Jesus is personally teaching you I trust that you’ll not follow after man made traditions, since you know very well that you haven’t been called to slavery but rather to freedom – in Christ.
Peace to all who love Jesus!
That great and awesome Shepherd.

Brother Jack.
I have not heard from you and that it understandible. My answer to you was long, admittedly, but so were the issues raised in the audio about the Catholic Church.
I would like you to listen to another former priest, no different than the other.. speaking about the totally wrong teachings of Catholicm to an audience that does not rise questions. Yet, this time the speach is dealt with piece by piece by two Catholics that have the right to give answers to the accusations. Do you not think this is fair, Jack.
I would that you listen to this. Otherwise I really think you should refrain yourself from speaking anymore about what the Catholic Church teaches..

Indeed I recommend this audio to all those inhere who believe the Catholic Church is gone astray and work to sincerely understand in order that they, also sincerely, can work for the Truth.
Your sister in Jesus.
