It is my opinion, based on Scripture that Iraq will be split up into two or several territories after the U.S. leaves.
In the south, some of the lower provinces may fall under the sphere of Kuwait, being "purchased" lands. Basically, I believe that Kuwait will pay off Iran for these territories, like West Germany used A. Hammer of Occidental Petroleum to transfer $80 billion to the USSR for the purchase of East Germany in the 1980s.
The bedouins of the Sabah clan were the first to settle a plain in the area of Kuwait,and graze the southern territories to the north, and effectively claim it as a homeland in the 1700s. In 1899, this Sabah clan signed a secret treaty with Britain until the outbreak of WWI, after which, it was made known.
At the end of WWI, Iraq was a loose collection of connected territories freed up from the Ottoman Empire, and named after its southern province of Al Iraq. Its Kirkuk oil fields then, as now, was the final motivation to remain.
King Faisal I of Hijaz, Saudi Arabia, was given rule of the loose territories of this newly established British Colony. In 1922, the British were pretty much "forced" into a 10 year exit agreement, and granted Iraq its independence in 1932. Britain would militarily remain, overthrowing uprisings from time to time, and staying until the revolution of July 14, 1958. In other words, Britain was never able to leave this backward nation until it had possessed a military presence for over 40 years. Three years later, on July 19, 1961, Kuwait received its own independence from Britain, ending a treaty of 62 years.
Ezekiel 38:5 speaks of a "Persia" as gathering together armies. It appears that Iraq's Sunni southern half will split from its northern Shia half, where the Kurds also live. I am of a mind that Iran, backed by Russia, will invade and seize this northern half after the U.S. leaves, and genocide the Kurds in the process. We must remember that Russia's armed forces have a very sizable Muslim contingent with Muslim loyalties that are more in line with Iran, where they used French parts and Russian Nuclear Technicians to build Iran's Nuclear Industry. Russia's treaty with Iran goes back to 1980 or 81, made not long after the USSR had massed in excess of 100,000 troops (largely tank and artillery supported) on the western Caspian Sea border.
The Cold War still exists, but it is simply now "the Lukewarm War". We all make friends, but the agenda now is the Russians and French simply vomit after making nice, and go back to their utopian Communist Conspiracy with radical Muslims. And why not? These Muslims are gradually taking over their countries.
Therefore, the invasion of Iraq may appear as forecast and foreseen from antiquity...maybe even foreordained by G-D, to help bring about the end times. Over 20 years ago I scoffed Winston Churchill's assessments of these Muslims, from back in his day, as the greatest danger to future world peace...but now, even the modern headlines appears to be proving him right. A genuine statesman who also had insight, and no one listened to him until it was too late. Any thoughts?
