I am not sure who to contact...but I am praying the the right person will see this and give me the information I need to lead my father-in-law to Christ. He is in the end stages of cancer. He has never been a practicing Jew...but he has requested a Jewish Funeral...and I know that he does not believe in Jesus. I love him...and want him to have peace knowing that he will go to heaven when he dies. Can someone help me with information to share with him...and pray that the Lord will use me to be a witness to him...
thank you...

Does your father-in-law know you're a christian? What does he think of that?
Would you tell him he needs to believe that a man is God (and worship this dead man) in order to be "saved", or would you put it another way that's less offensive but deceptive nonetheless? I'm being very serious.
Tell him nicely he has 2 choices if you wish to go down this path (and I'd advise you against it because it's attempted murder of his Jewish soul). Either he is to accept and worship a man who he must believe is God (which he'll probably find very repulsive regardless of his observance) or he can make a heartfelt commitment to Torah obedience in the best way he can (he will most likely need a real Rabbi for assistance, not some fake deceptive messianic Rabbi/Minister).
Repentance/Obedience to Torah is all God desires of Jews. See Ezek. 33:11, Deut 10:12-13, Eccl 12:13-14, and Micah 6:8. Those verses are clear that the Torah way is the ONLY way for Jews. No nonsense about having to accept a man as god which results in a Jew's soul being cut-off from God.
If you're going to try to hard-sell him on christian belief, do it honestly. I think that's a mistake however and you'll forever regret it. You'd be doing Hitler's work for him.
But be a fair-broker and let him know as a Jew what God from the Torah wants/expects of Him if you must preach Jesus.
Do him a real favor. Call a real Rabbi who'll come over and try to make a baal teshuvah of him (more observant Jew). Do the right thing.
Dearest sister in Jesus.
I think YOU are really the witness. It is not likely that your loved one will listen to strangers or read strangelooking books suddenly at his deathbed... But you are called to be a witness. Show him all the love .. ask Jesus to help you love in a supernatural way.. pray Him that He loves through you- an active and humble love. Ask Jesus to open the way for a quiet time where you and your father-in-law can talk and you can calmly and in the Peace of the Holy Spirit tell him what Jesus have meant to you. Who He is to you. And if you have the faith for it: do ask him if he will allow you to pray for him with laying on of hands. The Lord might just want to display His Love for this son by giving him healing or interior peace. You must pray for peace and the Spirit of wisdom.
In Jesus

Hello Lynn,
I will pray that your father in law will hear your attempts to tell him the gospel.
At the home page of this website, at the top, click on Answers (under EXPLORE) and there you will find many links to click on that you can read from the Jewish perspective and witness for Jesus.
Don't be discouraged by the pressure. Take one day at a time, and commit with prayer all your efforts to the Lord. Please let us know if this is helpful and encouraging.
Heavenly Father, please help Lynn Kranzler faithfully witness to her dying father in law, and help him to be able to see his need for Jesus, and give him saving faith. We pray this in Jesus' Name, Amen.

Dear Lynn,
What would Jesus do?
1. preach the gospel
2. 'preach' Judaism
3. be with him and listen to him
I 'd say : 3: be with him, listen to what is on his mind/heart, and especially give him the funeral he desires, wether it be Jewish, Christian, Islam, Buddhist etc.

Do you think this is a problem for Him that is Lord of "both the dead and the living." ? (Rom.14:9) I don't. Don't fear that he will be thrown into the 'pit of hell'. This is a wrong idea about our faith. Every person on earth will one day meat His Mercyful Maker. Our faith has nothing to do with fear, but with love and faith, that conquers death. Don't force the Gospel through somebodies throat.
Deat Lynn...
Psalms 2 through Psalms 9 talk about Christs birth, death and resurrection, right through to His triumphal return
Isaiah 53 tells of Him
ask the Lord to open the scriptures to you and HE will show himself
Acts 2:38 gives the process of salvation preached by Peter..
The best witness though is you...The peace you show will be the best witness.

When men tell you to consult mediums and spiritists, who whisper and mutter, should not a people inquire of their G-D? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? To the Law and to the Testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, they have no light of dawn.
Distressed and hungary, they will roam through the land; when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse their king and their G-D. Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom, and they will be thrust into utter darkness.
You who are walking in darkness will you see a great light? You who are living in the shadow of death, will a light dawn?
