I believe in Jesus for many reasons. He is the only sufficient explanation to the question of life itself. Only the Christian worldview answers all of life's important questions of where did we come from, what is wrong with the world, what can we do about it, and where are we going. Also, when we truly humble ourselves and seek after truth, God is faithful and reveals Himself to us. When I came to this point prior to being a Christian, I came in humility and the true God showed Himself to me in many ways. Because personal experience can be unreliable, this merely solidified what I was learning to believe, and personal experience is not by itself the basis for my belief. As I began reading the Bible I began to see Jesus in the Law, Prophets, and Psalms. He was opening the Scriptures to me, and continues to do so.

To me, the most convincing proof of Jesus' Messiaship is in Jesus' fulfillment of the Passover. The Israelites were told to sacrifice the lamb without blemish and put the blood on the sides and tops of the doorway. When God saw the blood, He would "pass over" them. In the same way, when God sees the blood covering that comes from our faith in Jesus, His wrath "passes over" us. Considering that the sacrifices in the Old Testament actually were only a symbol of the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus would be on the cross, a lamb without blemish, the blood covering, the fact that Jesus and the original Exodus 12 Passover were both on 14 Nisan, the fact that Jesus Himself claimed that He would rise on the 3rd day, not to mention that temple sacrifice ceased in AD 70 (no coincidence). Our faith is so rich!! The Passover alone is reason to believe. I know this is poorly written, but I need to go to bed. God is good. Jesus is Lord.
