Love the reference to the Syro-Phonecian woman, Ray. She's one of my favorites: bold and humble at the same time, with a persistent faith. Oh, to be more like her! Yes, she beautifully demonstrates the audacity and the supremacy of faith.

Okay, I've been thinking a lot about the pracitcal implications of all this. I don't know about 2012, but it wouldn't surprise me: worldwide food shortages, an energy crisis, a mortgage crisis, an exponential increase in natural disasters, Islamic terrorism, the vulnerability of Israel, and Russia and Iran making nice with each other (has anyone read Ezekiel 38 lately?). Everything is falling into place. Of course, Josiah's repentance and obedience gave Judah another 40-years before judgment fell, and that's always a possibility, but I don't see anyone even remotely resembling King Josiah on the horizon today.

I believe terrible persecution is coming to Christians in the U.S., and judgment. And I believe it is soon, even as I pray for more time. So what are God's people to be doing?

It is not unreasonable to store food, water, and supplies if it is done prayerfully and with the intent to share and minister to those around us. But more than that, I think God's people need to be on our faces in prayer. The old-timers called it "tarrying": spending time seeking God's face, listening for His voice, and soaking in His Word. When people's hearts fail them for fear, we will need to be serene and confident. I don't know about you, but I'm not there yet.

I also think boldness is the order of the day: a holy boldness to share the love of Jesus Christ. Time is running out, and there is no exit in hell. We are His voice, His hands, His feet. I feel more compelled than ever to be about the Father's business.

disbelief. Perhaps Sarah's offer was a bit much. You know how weak

We're basically already at war with Iran; a war over oil, nuclear weapons, and differences in religion-and-state seperation and republicanism and democracy.

It is an outward sign of the cutting off of sin in the heart.

The 1440 or(1440 x 100) is the Spiritual number of the GOSPEL;
whereby 1/3rd of the world or 2,000,000,000 people will be saved.

No offense taken. You're right on about the persecution. I've read that there are more Christians in the world who are being persecuted today than ever before. But, although Christians are increasingly marginalized in America, we haven't yet experienced full blown persecution. I believe that will change in the not too distant future, although I hope I'm wrong. And how ready do you think American Christians are for full blown persecution?

As to the current "war with Iran," I don't believe it's between republicanism and democracy; rather, it's democracy vs. fascism. Anti-semitism is and always has been endemic to Islam (which is kind of ironic, since most Muslim nations are semetic). And the rhetoric that's coming from Ahmadinejad today rivals Adolph Hitler. (Does it worry anybody that Obama wants to sit down and have a friendly chat with this guy?)

Ray, what's your take on Ezekiel 38? A couple of things stand out to me: that Gog will have "a hook in his jaw," indicating that Russia is going to be forced or pressured into participating in this attack. I suspect it's not going to be led by Russia at all, but by Iran. Also, where do you see this happening within the 70th week?
