Shalom,

All scripture references are from the KJV unless otherwise annotated.

Have you ever noticed the windows of the church?
The church closed itself off from the world!
It shut the doors so that what is going on inside cannot be observed from the outside.
It dressed itself up so much that comfortable or casual dare not come in.
It took the Law that was fulfilled in The CHRIST and redressed it to become CHRISTian Law of "Do this and don't do that" thus negating the life, death and resurrection of The CHRIST.
The world said to the church, "Shhhh!" And the church listened to the world.

To reestablish trust and develop an interest that will draw the world to the church we must;
1) Take the beam out of your own eye and quit looking for the splinter in everyone else!
2) Quit eating our own! Quit pointing fingers at others simply because they minister the Gospel (1 Cor 2:2 is ALL there is to the Gospel) differently than you. Simply because their lifestyle is different than is yours! Simply because they have a jet or expensive house or lay hands on the sick or speak in tongues or whatever.... Quit eating your own!
Mar 9:38 And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.
Mar 9:39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
Mar 9:40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

3) Be open! Admit your humanity. You are not perfect!
Quit pretending you are and quit looking for others to be.
Drop the "Holier than thou" act!
2Sa 6:20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!
2Sa 6:21 And David said unto Michal, [It was] before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.
2Sa 6:22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.
2Sa 6:23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

The "church" has become Michal.
It has become barren, bringing forth no offspring because of its "Holy" superior attitude.
Let get real?
2Sa 6:21 ...therefore will I play before the LORD.
When was the last time you "played" in church?
When was the last time the world saw the church "play"?

2Sa 6:21 ...therefore will I play before the LORD.
The Hebrew word for "play' is sachaq {saw-khak'}
The meaning of this word is just what one might think;
1) to laugh, play, mock
a) (Qal)
1) to laugh (usually in contempt or derision)
2) to sport, play
b) (Piel)
1) to make sport
2) to jest
3) to play (including instrumental music, singing, dancing)
c) (Hiphil) to laugh mockingly

In some churches today we play instruments, in some we don't. In some we sing hymns while in others we may sing contemporary or Hebrew or Country Gospel. Some sing sitting, some standing, and some standing with their hands raised or spread while yet others dance and maybe twirl and sing. Why is it at a sporting event the world goes nuts! They dance, they jump all around, and they paint their faces or wear unique outfits. They are willing to play before anyone about their team but what happened to the church?

Act 2:12 And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this?
Act 2:13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.
Act 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all [ye] that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:
Act 2:15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is [but] the third hour of the day.
Act 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;
Act 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:
Act 2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:
Act 2:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
Act 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:
Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Why is it that the world no longer sees this joy overflowing?
Why is it that they no longer see us as if we are drunk or intoxicated on the things of YHVH?

Act 2:26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:
Act 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Act 2:28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.
Act 2:29 Men [and] brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
Act 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
Act 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
Act 2:32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Act 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
Act 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
Act 2:35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.

Act 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

This occurred when the HOLY SPIRIT descended upon the people.
If this reaction is missing in your fellowship!
If this reaction is missing in you then HE, the HOLY SPIRIT, must be quenched or missing!
Where is the HOLY SPIRIT today?
Why is HE not manifest in HIS people the "church"?
Why is no one playing before the LORD?

This bothered the people in Jerusalem that day!
Act 2:37 Now when they heard [this], they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?
Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Act 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.

What is the HOLY SPIRIT saying to you today?
Is HE able to get through your "religion"?
Who is that Michal sitting in that pew?
Is it you?

Shalom my friend!

Y'shua bless You!

You know, you guys could have a lot more people here if you allowed them to post without first moderating everything. I know the world is a bad place but how do you expect people to communicate if your going to have them wait until there post is processed?

Open the doors…

Thank you!

I would venture to say that the meaning of the word to play before the Lord was in the musical or rhythmic sense of dancing. It is not likely laughing, mocking or jesting.

Sometimes the devil is in the definitions.
