The first time was to the Jewish nation , again to the remnant.
Two sticks, one stick. Judah, Israel. Two witnesses, One Jew, One Gentile. Two Houses Israel- (Those who would rule and reign with G_D)
Judah (those who praise the G_D of Israel).
Come let us return unto the Lord
He hath torn, He will heal us
He hath smitten, He will bind us up
In the second day He will revive us
In the third day He will raise us up
and we shall live in His sight
Then shall we know
If we follow on to know the Lord
His going forth is prepared as the morning
He will come unto us as the rain
as the latter and former rain upon the earth
Let's see..............................
Thousands of people were the son of david, right up until today.
Thousands of people have been born from the clan in Bethlehem.
Special sign birth? That would be a baby that was named by Immanuel by his mother.
Spreading "Torah" to the nations? Uh, that would be the Jewish people.
Performed supernatural deeds? G-d warns us about that!
I guess you could say according to your bible that jc rode a donkey. So did many others in that time.
Willingly suffered and died for the sins of the world? G-d says no one can die for another's sins.
Rejected by his brothers? I thought all of his disciples were Jews as was his brother James.
Accepted by the nations? Tell that to the 2 billion Muslims.
Fullfill the rest when he returns? Oh you mean the ones he was supposed to fullfill the first time? The ones that are the real signs of a messiah?
Who did ALL these?
Immanuel means G-d with us. Isn't that is the point of the prophecy SMR?
How have the Jewish people spread Torah to the nations (not just Jews)? Sadly, Israel has failed miserably to spread the good news of the G-d of Abraham to the world as G-d required. Even the Jewish people themselves are mostly secular.
Yes supernatural deeds ALONE don't prove he's Messiah.
You are incorrect about not being able to die for others - read Isaiah 53!
Messiah's brothers are Israel right? But even Yeshua's brothers James (and Jude?) did reject him until they saw him after his resurrection.
More people profess (yes, some falsely) Christianity than any other religion. Christianity is spreading like wildfire in Asia, especially where it's most persecuted. "Aslan is on the move."
Where does the Tanakh say Messiah had to fulfill all Messianic prophecies at one shot? Where does it say he will be both lowly riding on a donkey, the suffering servant and conquering king simultaneously - and does that even make sense?
According to Daniel 9 the time for Messiah to come and die has already past. Not only was Yeshua a perfect match so far, but there are no other possibilities. He is right on track to fulfill the life of Joseph - first rejected by his brothers, then savior to the nations, then he'll reveal himself to and save his brothers by whom he was pierced.
Blessings in Messiah!
Romans 15 :12
And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and He that shall rise to reign over the gentiles, in Him shall the gentiles trust.*
Isaiah 11:1, 10
Third Day,
The fact of the matter is, most of what you claim to be "propheices" of a meesiah are not at all.
If there is no mention of a redeemer, shoot of Jesse or David, it has nothing to do with a messiah.
Isaiah 7 has absoulutely NOTHING to do with a messiah. Jesus was NEVER named Immanuel by his mother as the verse states.
Isaiah 53 has NO reference to a messiah. Rejected? Who rejected jc? The Jews correct? Where does it say the servant will be rejected by the Jews? It doesn't. It says he will be dispised and rejected by MEN. Apparently he was very popular at the time of his death. According to your view, even Mr. Pilate didn't want to see him die, he asked the Jews!
Daniel 9? Why is that the ONLY passage in the entire Hebrew bible that the xtain bible translates as "messiah'? Every other place, the same word is translated as "annointed one"???
Jesus has fullfilled exactly 0 of the prophecies for a messiah King.
One who will gather the Jewish people from the 4 corners of the Earth to return to Israel.
One who will bring PEACE (not the sword) when he is here.
One who when he is here, there will be world knowledge of the one true G-d of Israel.
One who when he is here, the 3rd Temple will be rebuilt.
0, nada, none of those have been fullfilled.
xtianity is spreading like widfire? So what? So is bieng a Muslim. What does that prove?
If you read the Hebrew bible, you will see that the Jewish people will ALWAYS remain few in number. Now there is a prophecy that has been fullfilled!!
Muhammed did not fulfill the prophecies found in the Old Testament.
(see Isaiah 53)
899 mashiyach maw-shee'-akh from 4886; anointed; usually a consecrated person (as a king, priest, or saint); specifically, the Messiah:--anointed, Messiah.
anointed can mean messiah
IN isaiah 53 it says he had done no violence had israel even done violence?
It also says He cut off from the land of the living and makes his grave with the rich had israel ever died?
I mean you put He as being The nation right? and if this He was cut off from the living then you have no choice but to say israel Died.
I have a very intresting bookmark from zolz levitt ministeries
on the fron it shows a scrool and says the promised Mesiah
ont the back it has some old testament prophecies the scripture and the new testament scripture where Jesus fulfilled them

This forum is an answer of my prayer to learn about who the Messiah is. Please pray that I will be able to gor forward

Dear eagle be careful to avoid the teacher who says there is only one valid meaning to the text usually arguing on a very shallow literal level and says no to everything else! The teacher who sees the Tanakh on one level only (revelation) is not a true Jewish teacher. Our Afikoman (Messiah) must be searched out through the heart that seeks the Living G-d of Israel. The New Covenant promises your own personal burning bush experience to confirm your faith in the Torah and Prophets.
I have underlined some points that a particular teacher argued for your assessment above.
Jer 31:31-34 NIV The time is coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. (32) It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to [Hebrew Septuagint and Syriac covenant, and I turned away from] them, [Or was their master] declares the LORD. ... (34) No longer will a man teach his neighbour, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.
The L-rd promised to reveal Messiah (Himself) personally in verse 34. We have sold Joseph to Egypt but Jesus loved us and took our penalty of death.
Gen 42:8 NIV Although Joseph recognised his brothers, they did not recognise him.
