Its funny reading this forum. I see some whom post are spiritually blind. I believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah described in the Tanakh (Old Testament). There is evidence that God the Father is going to send a Son to die for our sins. In Isaiah 22:20-25 states (King James Version)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
20And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
21And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
22And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.
23And I will fasten him as a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for a glorious throne to his father's house.
24And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
25In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
Eliakim in the Hewbrew text means God's raising and Hilkiah means a portion of Jah or Yah. So Eliakim son of Hilkiah simply mean that God will send a portion of himself to us with the title of "Son". Eliakim and Jesus are Identical. In verse 25, this can be easily viewed as the crucifixion Jesus went through for us.
25In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail(Jesus) that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down(Crucifixion), and fall(Crucifixion); and the burden(sin) that was upon it(Jesus) shall be cut off(Sin being eliminated through Jesus and salvation for those is the faith of Jesus Christ): for the LORD hath spoken it.
I saw some post on the forum stating these were not prophesies but to put favor to Jesus a couple of pages ago. It's obvious the holy spirit has not revealed you the full truth. Let's see what prophesies mean in the dictionary.
proph•e•cy (prf-s)
n. pl. proph•e•cies (-sz)
1.
a. An inspired utterance of a prophet, viewed as a revelation of divine will.
b. A prediction of the future, made under divine inspiration.
c. Such an inspired message or prediction transmitted orally or in writing.
2. The vocation or condition of a prophet.
3. A prediction.
Look at version a.... Isaiah spoke of the messiah
Look at version b.... A prediction of the future. The old testament is before Jesus Christ. So this applies to Jesus.
Look at version c....There is about 300 passages in writing in the Tanakh concerning Jesus. Let me name a few.
