Hi
Can anyone tell why the prophecy about the maiden who will give birth to Imanuel (isaia) is a prophecy about Miriam who gave birth to Yeshua?
as far as I know the bible is very keen on the meaning of names and Imanuel does not mean Yeshua, although God appears in both of them.
Thank you and may the Lord bless you

it is two different names given to christ. just like these is Yeshua Joshua Imanuel prince of peace etc. They may not have all the exact meaning but They all point to christ.
ImmanuEL means "The Almighty is with us" and Yashuah(the original name of Jesus) means "The Almighty YHWH will save us". In order for you to be saved The SON of the Almighty YHWH, who is also THE ALMIGHTY will come to us to be with us, to save you through HIS death and HIS name is Yashuah(Jesus).
Dang, If you are looking for the name "Jesus" I mihgt suggest you start from the word "salvation" {try substituting the name}. Also bear in mind that Moses could only take Israel so far but it was up to "Joshua" {Jesus} to lead them into the promises of God. It was Joshua who made the waters of the Jordan recede back to a town called Adam. It was Joshua who took Gods people through the waters on the 10th of Nisan. It was Joshua who supervised the circumsicion of over a million men. And it was under Joshua that the people ate the "new corn of Cannan".
Now theres a name that every knee shall bow and tongue confess that He is Lord to the glory of the father.

In Hebrew he is called Yeshua and not Yashua, that is how most people
spell His name.

I am sorry for the way I introduced the subject: this not Immanuel V/S Yeshua but Immanuel and Yeshua!
my appologies

Dang, Yod and Heth if you put them together the assumed consonant is "A" now there will be no meaning in the word Yashuah if you pronounce it Yeshuah because it is a combination of two Ivrith words which is YHWH Praise HIS NAME(pron:YAH WEH) YAH-the first syllable of the FATHER'S name and Shua-means save us.
