It'd be nice if folks could just talk about non-JFJ-related or not-specifically-related-to-faith issues, such as day-to-day events in our lives.
Nice at first, but a waste of time.

Just jump over to the insanity at ZolaBoard at www.levitt.com and you will quickly see that a dozen or so will strongarm the forum, commit quackery - unbelief - or even illiteracy (be it brain-washed forms of indoctrination or simply not knowing) in Bible topics, and prefer ear tickling to substance.

We have enough "pride" and "puffing up" now...so why make it worse?

I would prefer to get into meatier posts with greater depth in the Bible, but most people cannot handle the subject material.  We are a Biblically illiterate nation, fallen from grace.  It would be nice to have an easier ability to post Greek or Hebrew, but that may get way to deep for whoever surfs into the site for the first time.

When I was at Liberty University, I saw that supposedly "christian" parents were sending their Ozzy Ozbourne kids to a "christian" University in order that the University would "straighten" them out.  I was the odd one in my half of the dorm to actually believe the Bible and proclaim Jesus Christ.  To have done so, they thought I was some kind of a fanatic.  Imagine that: a Christian seeks to attend a University where he can speak openly about his faith in the Bible and Jesus, and he has to get a dorm full of pagans who are only there because Mommy and Daddy can't summon the guts to "discipline" them.  Ouch!  I guess having money, and no time for responsibility in rearing the kids properly, hurts.  More like: damns theirs souls.

Dealing with those fellow-posters on the ZolaBoard was often a much tamer version of the pagans at LU.  I left both (the University many years ago, and the ZB of a month or more ago) and, aside from not attaining a personal goal at Liberty, have no regrets about leaving either.

So, my advice?  Keep it Bible, Bible, Bible...and Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.  The whole world is full of that other junk...this forum should be a place of refuge to discuss these particular things on Bible, Jesus, Judeo-Christianity, etc.  Learn from the mistakes of others where and when you can.  You seem to mean well, so it's taken in that way...okay?  Shalom.
Wow! At 17 I was of those in the twilight zone, but I never had a problem with Jesus freaks, (pardon the terminology). My college was mainly architecturally based with some graphic design. Jesus knocked in 1982, and I've been learning ever since. G-d bless the people that post, especially the younger set. That mention of his name brings us closer and not further apart.
