Growing up, I would often go to a Southern Baptist church with my mom's parents, and on high holidays the synagogue with my father, who is a traditional Jew. As I grew older, my parents divorced and we moved closer to my grandparents and I attended church even more. I was Baptised in 2004, but it was close to three years later that I really started to live my faith. Though I am only ethnically half Jewish (I am a Cohen, so I suppose I would receive my Jewishness from my father, who is a Jew...thus, I suppose I am a full Jew), there is no doubt in my mind that Yeshua was Meshiach. The way I look at it, the Jewish law given to us to keep between the days of Abraham/Isaac/Israel, and Yeshua, were used to guide the Jews to bring Elohim's light into the world between the days of those four individuals. Through the birth, crucifiction, resurrection, and ascension of Yeshua, our mission was finished; the law had been fulfilled. The only thing we needed to do was have faith in the blood of Yeshua Meshiach, who was Elohim made flesh. Because of that, we are motivated to keep the law of Moses, whether Messianic Jew or a gentile believer in Meshiach Yeshua.
There are very few traditional synagogues around where I live, much less messianic ones. I attend a Southern Baptist church, and I suppose that's that.
May I thank Elohim for bringing me up exposed to my maternal grandparents, specifically my grandmother, a strong gentile believer in Meshiach Yeshua.
Happy Peshach to everyone and have a good evening.
[size=large][color=green]Welcome to our Forum, Ted, you write like someone who has a lot to say. I always say I am 100% Jewish and 100% Christian. These are not mutually exclusive categories. The opposite of Jewish is not "Christian" but Gentile. Y'shua made you kosher.
Brother, You have had the best of both worlds and are truely blessed.
As a gentile {raised heathen} I owe my tutorial into the Christian/Jewish faith through a sound messianic work. I have yet to find a true christian reject their hebrew roots. Our fellowship recently shared in the sedar meal and were once again blessed through it. Jacobs seed has been a unending blessing to me and my whole family. Thankyou. You likewise have a good passover. Baruch Hashem Mishpukah.
How is Kosher even a reality to a Hebrew?
What Rabbinical Judaism calls Kosher is blasphemy. Have you seen what passes for Kosher, Kosher is a scam to tax the food products bearing it’s symbols.
Why do you say that a Yahudim, an offspring of Yahuda is kosher when they believe in Yahushua? What is it that we have as Christians that they didn't have with the torah???
Messiah Yeshua was the man who walked and lived the torah. He was an example to all men and especially the tribes of Y'israel. I am sure you are well aware that Christianity is diseased by roman rule and the pope claiming complete authority over the scriptures here on earth and Judaism was diseased by the Rabbi's claiming higher authority than Yah because they had the power to interpret the torah.
Jesus made me kosher!
Kosher is a status before G-d that is to a Jew first but also to a Gentile.
Rom 10:1-4 KJV Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. (2) For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. (3) For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. (4) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
Melech you have attacked all sides.
Why are you so angry?
What are you sowing?
Who are you trying to win?
Why I gave my life to Christ, Y'shua -
My spirit and God's (His) Word agree.
Creation, Joy of Believers, Grace, Peace.
Success in the World of Believers in Y'shua (Abraham's Blessing).
Love.
These are just 4 of my reasons, there are many more.
