JFJ Forums - What I don't like about this forum

Mr. Rosen is the only moderator here, so it does take some
time for posts to appear. However, I think he is very fair
and I am more than willing to wait for posts to show up.

Then it seems more moderators are necessary...4 days? You don't feel that is a bit long? That, (in my opinion) Is being moderated to death.
I could read every post in this forum in one day and make a decision as to whether they are suitable or not. No offense to Mr. Rosen Smile

I looked at the statistics for this forum and was shocked. No disrespect.
As a member of many message boards, I read every new post and answer all replies directed to me all in a matter of a couple hours.

Perhaps your posts are approved quicker than 4 days, if not then I commend you for your patience... I like to know at least if my posts are going to show up at all. Some sites just kick you off if they don't agree with your views...I would like to think that is not what is happening here, since some things I post are quite extensive and I hate to waste my time.
As I said in another post on this site (that has not been posted as yet), if they do show up someday, my sincerest apologies.

Just to clarify:

Board Averages:

Posts per day: 11.79
Threads per day: 1.46
Members per day: 1.74
Posts per member: 6.78
Replies per thread: 7.06

Total Members 624 (out of those only 340 have posted any messages at all)

Total posts on this forum ... 4,233 (I go to one site that has 100,000 members and post 4,000 a day)

This forum has an astounding 12 posts per day on average.(Sarcastically stated, but true)

If every member posted 2 messages a day I could see how that would be rough on one moderator...but I don't see that from the statistics.

I maintain, the wait is discouraging.

Four days does seem long, but if only one person is doing it, then
we just need to have patience Smile

I would much rather have one
person doing it who is fair and balanced than a group who would
delete every post which has something they do not agree with...
which is what I have seen happen at other forums.

Well, I think I posted something around 11am, and now it is 7:45p with no sight of the postings.... I agree that there are alot of christian forums like JFJ that don't seem to have any problems with immediate postings.... if there is then the mod's just delete that post...

I hope you guys consider changing back to immed. response in postings because it makes dialogue easy and so much more fun!!! Anyhow, I think what disturbs me is the unintended result of being presumed bad of heart rather than good,( not the way a Christian should have to live!) and thus the burden of having to moderate each reply before hand.

I did clear the board about 7 hours ago. It usually takes me between one and two hours each time. Most of the other Jews for Jesus staff are busy making calls and doing general missionary work.

I think its great that others can get the posts up right away. If you would let me know the names of a couple of forums. I will get in touch with them and find out how they do it. I passed my three score and ten year mark 5 years ago but I can still learn from others.

Thank you for the fast reply.  I did post something under 'other topics that don't fall into the above categories'  I think around 11am my time this morning, and now 9p here, still not posted.  Maybe it got lost.....

A good site, as far as immed. post responses, is Prophecynewswatch.com they have a discussion board that is 'immediate response',  no moderator reviewing before each post, and for the most part there is no outstanding problem with bad posters....

Just an observation,  but I feel your site is an important one, especially in discussion, and the need to moderate every response seems to be killing it a bit.   Why not have immed posting, and if you get the occasional bad egg,  then have him banned from posting....

It is so nice for dialogue to be able to respond in a appropriate time frame to discussions  ( as I think others have pointed out) and I hope for the boards sake you reconsider.

Ok Moishe lets put that pick axe down and pick it up a notch.
We apreciate your mediation here. I have been to some of the "instant" sights and often find that conduct can turn into a brawl of words very quickly when left unattended. Not sure I'd let it become an express window. Some responses cannot be easily rescinded. Hey, even dominos dropped the "30 minutes or less" option. We pray for your discernment. Maybe we could call it JFJ express "when it absolutely, positively has to be there".
