Full Version: What I don't like about this forum
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
What I don’t like about this forum is that the line of communication is cut off by the moderators by forcing us to wait on them to okay our post. I realize that the world is evil but if they did their job they would simply have to delete unwanted post. Personally I believe that if you want to tell people about God you have to allow them to express themselves.

Something to think about goes like this:

Matthew 13:26-29 (New King James Version)
But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.
Who are the moderators here and how can we get in touch with them? The reason I ask is that I'm having problems posting and I'd need some help.

Thanks...
Jack:

I realize that it seems to be frustrating to you to have to wait for a post to be approved. It was equally if not more frustrating to those of us who have used this forum for a long time to see it become filled with a morass of postings by people who just wanted a platform to sling insults and berate believers in Jesus. The forum rules are now spelled out pretty clearly (there's a link you can click on), but I'd draw your attention to the following:

"Because we want everyone to have their say, we need for you to respect others even when you disagree with them. In order to promote intelligent discussions in these forums, we will delete posts that personally attack others. Remember that politeness helps every discourse. You can most effectively make your point by respectfully providing evidence in short posts that support your arguments."

On this forum, we welcome those who are in disagreement with what we believe ... but not those who express their disagreement disrespectfully. Respect is a starting point for dialogue, and once it's been trampled on it sends a pretty clear message that someone really isn't interested in talking about what they believe so much as denigrating what someone else believes.

Yes I do find it somewhat frustrating to have to wait for my replies to be approved... Sadly, so much so that I've stop coming here. Oh I still have your link on my web site but I find it a lot more interesting to join forums that are more open. All those forums have moderators and for most part people have a good time sharing their faith. Anyway I appreciate your reply and I understand what you mean.

Hey, maybe God will give you guys more people to moderate the forum someday and you'll be able to open it up more.

Shame on those who would deny us the right to share our faith... After all, wasn't it a Christian Nation that God used to establish Israel? Where those young man who gave their lives in WWII not mostly Christians?
Indeed, the freedom Israel has was given to it through Christian nations, and yet some of you would deny us the very rights we have fight for on your behalf.

Is tradition so important to you that you would persecute those who helped you?

Peace to the elect of God and to His Christ!

I agree, I don't like having to wait to see posts approved either.
I forget where I posted, what my thoughts were, and get busy
and involved in other things and forget to come back at all.
It it was only a slight delay of an hour or so, it would't be so
bad...but it usually takes a day or so.
But I understand the moderators are probably volunteers and
only have so much time to devote to it...but to bad they just
cannot delete posts they deem offensive...Smile

Unfortunately, past experience with the old forum was that if offensive posts were deleted, then there was the accusation that Jews for Jesus was censoring posts they disagreed with. Which just goes to show that you simply can't make everyone happy Big Grin

Most true....too bad people cannot just be civil......
hey messy, that line on the bottom that says  "linear mode " and  "threaded mode"?  put that on top instead of the bottom. it doesnt make sense on the bottom.

or better still, fix pages so when selected mode, lock in and stay at that selection.

too much scrolling and searching.  a waste of time and missed responses.

David, while I'm not the administrator of these forums I'm sure that they will welcome your input.

I did not like the delay at first, but now it makes for a more relaxing pace without the pressure of immediacy, and it is possible to remain in the discussion and think about new replies before responding.

So that you don't forget what you posted or lose track, try saving the final version of your drafted post as a Draft, then go into your User CP and scroll down to Drafts, find your post, re-open it by clicking Edit Draft and then click Post Reply.  That version will stay there in Drafts until you select and delete it at your convenience, such as when your post appears online or you have updated that Draft.  Every time you log in, check in your User CP under Drafts.  This can also be used to partially draft a reply, then return to it later and finish it.
