It is sure funny, wkirscher, that one the other thread you tryed preaching sola-scripture down my throat (even though that's what I was using) when you were trying to prove a point...and I came back at you with it and even sugarman pointed you out on that fact...that you were saying "this is when we go sola-scripture", but you were trying to use other early church references to back you up. There will always be many things people find/write/etc. that will be wrong...just like today we have people that believe differently, so is that to say that in 1000 years from now (if we are still here) that they should go by what you say, or by what I say??? No, they should go by the Bible, and Bible alone...that's why it's sola-scripture..where do you draw the line? Should we cut out what we don't like about it (which is what RCC does, right?) and add what we want? (which is what RCC does, right?) or should we preserve the word that Jesus told his disciples to do...in which they were moved by the Holy Ghost?
2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:   (It is God-breathed, it is inspired thru the Holy Spirit).
The RCC pray to the saints, bow down to their statues, give them flowers, etc...which is CLEARLY 100% against scripture IN THE BIBLE!!
Catholics pray to the saints to intercess for them to God, however, what does Jesus say??? I am the way, the truth, the life; NO ONE comes to the Father but by ME.
1 Tim 2:5
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
ONE MEDIATOR...None other than Jesus...
"But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah." (Jeremiah 2:28)
"Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them." (Deuteronomy 11:16)
Where does it ever say to pray to anyone other that God??? It doesn't, it tells you not to pray to anyone other than God, not to have idols, etc... I could go on this all day, all I'm going to say is you should read Revelations, because MANY people believe the mystery Babylon is the RCC...I don't know this 100% but I do know that it fits all the requirements I have studied.
Back to original discussion...I would like to add these 2 verses:
"Unto him (Jesus Christ) that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood." (Revelations 1:5)
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water BY THE WORD. Eph. 5:26 (This is 2-fold, the word of gospel/and the word is Jesus)
The Word of God is like-
Fire that purifies us.
-Is not my word like as a fire? saith the Lord. Jer. 23:29
A hammer that breaks the strongholds of sin.
-...and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Jer.23:29
A looking glass or mirror that shows our sin spots.
-For if any be a hearer or the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and...forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therin,...shall be blessed in his deed. James 1:23-25
The Sword of the Spirit helps us fight Santanic warfare.
-Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God...the swod of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph.6:13,17
Water that washes and cleanes the believer.
-That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word. Eph. 5:26
Milk spiritually nourishes the new believer.
-As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby. 1 Peter 2:2
Seed that is planted in the soul.
-But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit. Matthew 13:23
Honey that is sweet to the taste.
-How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth. Psa. 119:103
Gold- it is more precious than gold.
-More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much find gold. Psa.19:10

Don't forget how important the word of God actually is...it's not just the Bible...it is Jesus himself!!!
continued...
My computer messed up and I don't know if my last post was posted or not...so I will attempt to repost it again..if it shows up 2 times (sorry, that's why)
2 Timothy 4:3-5: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”
“Holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict” (Titus 1:9).
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers” (Acts 2:42
There's many many scriptures I can give you about enduring sound doctine...want more??? SOLA-SCRIPTURE OR YOU CAN BE ENDURING SCRIPTURE SATAN WANTS YOU TO HAVE!!!
wkirscher, may I ask, why wasn't Jesus baptized as a baby??
I just told Jesus; I really mis Krisi's comments and spirit filled interjection.I hope she didn't give up on the forum! The thought left my mind and I went to this thread;First time.Thats a confirmation the Lord wants you here! You ask rare questions that provoke thought , like this one[55]. I believe it fit's with prophesy;Isaiah7:16, that the child must grow into knowing to refuse evil, and choose the good! Jesus had the decision to choose as G-d created all men;with a choice!, and become of the age of accountability to accept that role!
I believe anyone in any denomination that acknowledges Jesus as the   Son sent of The G-d of Israel , and accepts G-d's  gift of redemption in Him, shall be saved! The children of the twelve Tribes of Israel first; the roots and trunk of the Olive tree, and some of the  branches will be; The Gentiles grafted unto the tree of the G-d of Israel. So those not Messianic will become adopted into the Jewish family![ Are not the roots and trunk before the branches?]There are many spirit filled Catholics! They believe Mary is blessed of G-d, but does not hold redemption to men of herself. She is not an advocate for men to G-d, only in her Saviour; Her Son ,Christ ;is her redemption fulfilled, as all men's redemption who accept Him, unto G-d.
