I know a Jewish guy who made an appointment with his Chasidic Rabbi as he wanted to personally thank him for the prayers he had offered on behalf of his family as they had been going through difficult times. When it was evident that things had improved the fellow asked to thank the Rabbi personally for his prayers. When the Jewish guy was called in to the Rabbi's office on the appointment time the Rabbi did not even bother to stand up and greet the Jewish guy. He thought, 'that's rude but hey, I'm sure the Rabbi is just busy'. Having sat down for a minute the visitor got up to shake the Rabbis hand but he did not allow him to do so but only offered his knuckles to touch. Realising that he is not holy enough to linger too long in the Rabbis presence he left.

Now, can someone tell me what is going on here? Is it normal for Chasidic 'Tzaddic' Rabbis to be so 'untouchable'? When I think of how Rahab was justified for her faith in G-d alone...... I wonder where things have gone so wrong today? How can a Rabbi consider himself so holy? I thought it was G-d who justified Abraham - unlike G-d doing the justifying pre-Rabbinic days it seems that Chasidic Rabbis justify themselves.

Interesting.......
