Full Version: Christian Seeking Original Plan in Judaism

Hello,

Forgive me if this sounds wrong.  My husband and I are serious, but rather quiet and introverted, Christians who feel convicted to find and follow the original pattern God gave us.  My husband was a virgin when we married, and I would have been except for being raped.  We both try to follow the guidelines that Christians set, but most of our leaders are so "wishy-washy" when it comes to trying to set a specific Original Pattern to follow.

I am personally tired of being told that I have to "just pray about it," or that "God will guide you heart."  I want solid ground.  I want to be helped when it comes to living to please God with my life and actions after my faith in the savior.

As far as I understand it, the Law of Moses was created to help the Jewish nation live as God intended even though there is sin in the world.  If I don't have it right, please let me know.

My husband and I both believe that the rejection, by the Christian church, of Jewishness as a good lifestyle to celebrate God was a mistake.  It seems that the only time pastors reference the Old Testament is when they are dealing with war or enemies.  The Old Testament's God is the SAME God as the New Testament's God right?

I grew up in a church where a person had to "speak in tongues," wail during music service, and basically forgive the fact that there was no spiritual truth or meat in the sermon to be a good Christian.  I don't follow this line of thought, obviously. I DON'T believe that Divine revelation is the only way to determine wrong from right.  And that is why we are looking to Judaism for answers about following and pleasing God with your actions.

After all, "faith without deeds is dead." James 2:26b

Thank you in advance for your help and attention.
