Manly Embroidery

Look what I embroidered....

Below is an Atorah and corners I have hand embroidered to be installed on a wool tallit (prayer shawl) when I get to Israel.

I have in fact, decided to go with the "Historic Tallit" ©, made by Gabrieli with one exception...

I am replacing the ugly atarah and corners that come with this blue tallit, with new ones that I had hand made by a wonderful Jewish woman named Jan, who also has her own fantastic online Tallit making Business...
You can visit it at www.kippahdesign.com

She Hand made this wonderful atarah for me, at an amazingly affordable price:

The Hebrew is from Isaiah 12:2

It says "Behold, God Is my Salvation, in Him I will Trust and not Fear".

I took my atorah from this:

So, what do you think?

RE: Manly Embroidery

Thanks!

What I truly love about this WHOLE chapter of scriptur is how it intertwines Jesus' name with GOD...

I believe that UI saiah was actually calling out Jesus' name in this prophesy. litterally proclaiming the messiah's name to be "Yeshua"!

The Hebrew is from Isaiah 12:2

It says "Behold, God Is my Salvation, in Him I will Trust and not Fear".
This is the same scripture that proclaims Jesus' name!

The "God Is my Salvation" part, literally reads in Hebrew "God is my Yesuah"....

How utterly COOL is THAT!

RE: Manly Embroidery

Nice Tallis, but how did you know how to tie the tzitzis and the number of windings and knots?

Yes, you too can learn to tye your own tzitzits at this site.

http://www.begedivri.com/techelet/tying0.htm

And you can even buy true biblical tekhelet there too.

To be more specific in regard to my question, how do you (or the web site you quoted) know:

(a) That the tzitzis mentioned in the Torah are as you have them on your Tallis and

(b) That there should be 7, 8, 11 and 13 windings with two knots in between?
