A question from an interested agnostic-atheist.

Avraham Wrote:If Jesus was a priest after the order Melchizedek then he was a Gentile and not a Jew. Melchizedek was a Gentile Priesthood as Avraham was a Goy. [quote/] Azriel replies, Perhaps then you could provide us with the names of Melchizedeks birth parents, and geneology ?toda raba

First, then why did you try to assert this was talking about Abraham in your prior signatures?

Second, King David would not mention any gentile in the Psalms as a High Priesthood.

So then whomever is mentioned in Psalm 110 is then a gentile?
Would the Lord send a gentile as a  rod of strength out of Zion? No.
Goodness what are they teaching you in the Torah only Synagogue these days?

Psalm 110: 2 The LORD shall send the rod of your strength out of Zion: you will rule in the middle of your enemies.

"Why is this simple truth so hard to understand???"

Simple?

Origen said that Melchizedek was an angel. Others have proposed that he was the Holy Spirit in human form.

Many Christians, ancient and contemporary, have said that this is a classical example of a Christophany in the Old Testament, that is, Melchizedek was Jesus Christ himself, who appeared to Abraham in human form.

Another view is that Melchizedek was a type of Christ.

The text in Genesis indicates that Melchizedek was a Canaanite king who reigned in Jerusalem before the city was conquered by David and became the capital of the united monarchy (2 Samuel 5:6-10) Canaanite's were Pagans! King David slaughtered them when he conquered Jerusalem.

The priesthood of Melchizedek is used by the author of the book of Hebrews to prove the claim that Jesus Christ was a high priest.

It's anythng but "simple" what's wrong with you?

Then why would Abraham pay a tithe to a pagan Canaanite king?
